Nurturing Touch Massage Therapy 13.12.2020

If you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you are living in the future. If you are at peace you are living in the present. Lao Tzu... I have been holding this quote close to my heart for some time now. It reminds me to stay in the moment as much as possible. If my mind launches into the future, I try to gently remind myself to come back to the now. I just breathe. I hope you are doing the same. Blessings... Tara

Well...it has been a few days of the 'new normal' around here and I am happy to say that it is going well! I have been so excited to see your smiling faces and everyone is more than cooperative with all the new protocols. Thank you so much for making this back to work transition a positive one! Continue to do your part to keep our numbers down so we can stay healthy and enjoy our summer here in the beautiful Okanagan!... Yours in Health! Tara

Hello friends... I found this message of hope and comfort around the communal grieving we are all doing. Glennon Doyle reminds us we need to feel it and be tender with ourselves. This time is not necessarily about self improvement but about self care. So, I am reminding you to do your self care! Whatever that may be! Reaching out to others, breathing deeply, nature walks, baths, crying, laughing, playing, grieving.....all the beauty and the mess. We can do hard things.... I look forward to when I see you on my table again for some self care. With love, Tara

Dear ones, It is with great sadness that I tell you Nurturing Touch Massage Therapy is closed until further notice due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The health and safety of my patients, their families and our community is of the upmost importance to me. It is crucial we take more drastic measures to support those in essential services and not overwhelm our system. ... I would like to thank all the warriors on the front lines. The doctors, nurses, grocery store workers and many others working hard and long to fight this pandemic and keep us safe and well. I hope that in this uncertain time that you can turn to your loved ones in whatever way you are able and find connection, love and even some laughter. We will be back in the office again. I hope sooner than later. Until then, stay home and just breathe. With much love, Tara

CLINIC CLOSED FOR TWO WEEKS In light of recent developments of Covid-19, the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia has recommended all RMT's suspend practice for two weeks. So, starting today March 17th, the clinic will be closed. Stay tuned for more updates. You can go online to my booking site to check for updates as well. We can choose to see the silver lining here. We must love and support one another. Love your family, play board games, read, snuggle your dog, sleep, watch movies. This too shall pass and we will all be together again!

In an effort to keep my patients informed regarding practices around Registered Massage Therapy and the Coronavirus, I will be posting the latest updates here in addition to my online booking site. This is the latest from the BC Centre for Disease Control on self isolation: For people arriving in B.C. from outside Canada... People arriving from outside of Canada are asked to self-isolate, which means staying home and not going to work or school, and monitor for symptoms for 14 days after arrival in Canada. http://www.bccdc.ca//diseases-c/covid-19/testing-isolation If you have a massage therapy appointment booked and have been abroad in the past two weeks, please phone us and we can reschedule your appointment until after the 14 day period. We want to keep each other safe and prevent the spread of this virus. So we must all do out part. I am taking extra measures to keep the office, massage table and any high touch areas sanitized often. There will be hand sanitizer in my office for patients to use before their treatments. I look forward to seeing you. We will get through this together! In Health and Wellness, Tara O'Kane, BHK, RMT
