To love God is to love His will. It is to wait quietly for life to be measured by One who knows us through and through. It is to be content with His timing and His wise appointment. -Elisabeth Elliot

Are you waiting for something you’ve been praying about for a very long time and the answer has not come? Do you sometimes feel stretched to the very limit of your endurance? I don’t think there is one of us who hasn’t felt like this at times. You are not alone. How can we pray for you this week?

As it says in Psalm 37:4, Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Note that the Lord is doing the giving in the futurehe will give you the desires of your heart. We have to trust with great expectations that the Lord will bless us in the future.

Serving in the Muslim Arab world in Israel, Gabriel explains that one of his biggest hurdles is division. He partners with the evangelical church in his village to address division between people groups, between religious groups and, sometimes, like in his village, between differing families. His church, which has around 50 regular attendees, is the only evangelical presence in the whole village. Despite being small, Gabriel and his church are making a big impact. Gabriel n...otes that it takes multiple encounters with the gospel before a person surrenders their life to Christ, and usually even more encounters in the Middle East. He believes the goal is not always for the person listening to make an immediate decision to follow Jesus, but for believers to continually be obedient and share Christ with their neighbours. How do you show up in your community to love your neighborhood like yourself? How can you live out love today? Repost from OM International

Did you know that Umit means 'hope' in Turkish? Umit is a project aimed at sharing the gospel in Turkey with those who have never heard the good news of God’s love for them. August 2020: 70 participants from 20 provinces in Turkey, as well as people from other nations, joined in during the five evenings of training via Zoom. Most of the speakers were Turkish from within Turkey. Turkish Jesus followers face significant challenges to sharing the good news of God’s love in their own communities. One challenge is the tremendous courage needed to share. While foreigners taking part in an outreach could lose their visas or be deported, locals run a different, higher risk. People are afraid of losing their jobs or losing their friends or rejection from their own families." Repost from OM International

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes,... to still the enemy and the avenger. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? As we look back on 2020, we thank God for His steadfast love in the midst of hardship and uncertainty. We know that hope in this life can only be found in Him, and that millions of people around the world still don’t know this hope. We’re all ordinary people, but, as we’ve seen though the Christmas story, God uses ordinary people to bring about His extraordinary plan for the world. This is why, as we enter into a new year, we’re asking you to join us. ... Your gift will enable us to mobilise more Jesus followers around the world to share God’s love with people who have not yet heard about the hope that is found in Him.
