This year, on Friday, Aug. 2nd 2019, MyLadysmith.com (www.myladysmith.com), went to Coronation Mall, where Ladysmith Days hosted a bouncy castle, face painting, live music and the Zucchini races. Saturday Aug. 3rd, we took part in the Rotary Club of Ladysmith Rotary Club pancake breakfast at LDCU parking lot, where the Town of Ladysmith handed out the Citizen of the Year Award. This day included the Kinsmen Club of Ladysmith Ladysmith Days Parade. We talked with Ladysmith Councillor Marsh StevensforLadysmith Stevens and Chief John Elliott from the Stz'uminus First Nation, as well as MP Paul Manly for Nanaimo-Ladysmith about growing up in Ladysmith. We enjoyed the Soap Box Derby and talked to Jason Kelland of the Ladysmith Kinsmen and AW Ladysmith, as well as some of the young participants. Aggie Hall Field was full of happy kids and adults alike enjoying the entertainment, hot dogs, drinks and the live band @The Porter Brothers. On Sunday, Aug. 4th, MyLadysmith.com headed down to Transfer Beach to see the Laser Tag, the food truck vendors, Tiger Lilly Farm (pony rides, petting zoo), Kids Fun Zone (giant slide, bouncy castles, balloon animals), and Town of Ladysmith Ladysmith Parks, Recreation & Culture Summer Day Camp team with fun and active games. MyLadysmith.com takes in Ladysmith BC Canada Day Celebrations at Transfer Beach. We talk with Nanaimo-Ladysmith Member of Parliament Paul Manly. We see the Stz'uminus First Nation engaging the crowd to join in dance and they perform an original song and dance by elder George Harris. The mayor of Ladysmith Aaron Stone was on hand as well as MLA Doug Routley.
