HEYO! We are so thrilled to announce that the lovely Ms Hannah Levinson took home the Joey Awards for Best Actress in a Short Film for Age of Reason!! She is such a talent house, super professional, and was making us all laugh in between takes. And you should see her awesome dance moves!... In fact - you can! Hannah plays one of the Matilda's in Mirvish's Matilda the Musical playing in Toronto right now till January. We are so proud of Hannah and think she is so deserving. Congrats Hannah!

Huge, giant congratulations to our very own Hannah Levinson, star of Age of Reason, for her Joey Awards nomination for her role in the film. We are so proud of her work in this short, and so happy that she is being recognized. Also big congrats to some of our "alumni", the lovely Alyssa Cross (star of When Fish Fly) and Peyton Kennedy (star of our Little Louise teaser) on their nods as well! These are some serious #womeninfilm. Way to go, ladies!

August is a big birthday month for some of our absolute favourites! Today is the 60th birthday (did I say 60? I meant...40...) of our very own Head of Transport (aka doer of all the things), Randy Snow! Part of his special day is being spent going to pick up the DCP of our latest short film, which should tell you everything you need to know about his tireless and amazing dedication to the team.... Happy Birthday, Rose Snow! She has supported us in everything we have ever done (including giving birth to our co-founder), and has provided countless goodies for the craft table. She's provided meals for our productions from Halifax to Toronto, all with a smile and a kind hearted attitude. We absolutely love her, to the bottoms of our hearts, and could not do anything without her. (Photo cred: Eldie Photography)

Today's OWP Interview is with our dear friend Michael Gaty. Michael has literally been contributing and helping since before the company was officially formed. He's worked in some capacity on all our projects, and recently has been doing a ton of amazing work in our Art Department, including on our latest short 'Age of Reason' (which the picture is from below - thanks to Ally Chadwick for the snap!). In his own right he is a kick ass actor, writer, and general human being. Th...anks Michael for all you do! Name: Michael Gaty Occupation: Actor, PR Coordinator for Cutler and Gross, Toronto Favourite OWP moment: I think my favourite moment would have to be the first time I read a very early version of Two Penny Roadkill, and I knew immediately that it was going to be beautiful. Filmmakers who Inspire you: Darren Aronofsky, Stanley Kubrick, Wes Anderson, and Xavier Dolan First movie you saw in theatres: I don't think this is the first movie I ever saw in theatres, but the earliest memory I have of being in a movie theatre was when my father took me to see the re released "Star Wars Trilogy" in theatres. It was awesome. I also remember seeing "The Little Mermaid" on the big screen at some point, although I'm not sure how or when. Not at all surprisingly, it was just as awesome as Star Wars. Last movie you watched: Last night I re-watched the "Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring," for probably around the twentieth time. It was just as great as it always is. However, the newest movie I watched recently was "Captain America Civil War." Maybe I was still experiencing PTSD from attempting to watch "Hardcore Henry" in theatres the week or two before, but both left me feeling pretty queasy. Go to movie snack: I like the Sweet and Salty combination. Give me a large popcorn, with butter and absolutely no flavoured seasoning, paired with some sort of chocolate - I'm pretty easy going with this option - and I'm in movie snack heaven. Anything to plug: I'm doing a show tonight (July 25) at 9 pm at Comedy Bar. It's called Mixed Company and it pairs professional scripted actors (like me!) with established improvisors to do scenes in front of the audience.

The houses in St. John's bring back delightful 'When Fish Fly' memories! Lots of people assumed we shot our short in Newfoundland, but in fact we shot our scenes on Argicola Street and Queen Street in Nova Scotia!

Today's #OWPPlaces is the amazing team over at Village Sound. Jason did the score for #AgeofReason, #TwoPennyRoadKill, and helped out on our #LittleLouise teaser. We are so inspired by the varied work they do, including some amazing podcasts, sound design, and all things audio. And, exciting news, they are expanding their business and opening up a new Toronto location! We are so thankful to have gotten to work with them multiple times, and can't wait to again in the future!

We are so excited to feature our star of 'When Fish Fly', the lovely Alyssa Cross in our next #OWPInterview. We were blown away when Alyssa auditioned for us, and then she brought it and more over the days of the shoot. We even had the girl cabled on the roof, and she loved it! Check out the photo by Eldie Photography of Alyssa rocking her own stunts. We are so inspired by the multi-talented Alyssa, and can't wait to see what she does next. Thanks for being part of the OWP F...amily!! Alyssa Cross Student /actress/ skater /Dancer Favorite owp moment was working on when fish fly - the roof scenes. Filmmakers who inspire you..well..lisa and Lora of course! You both are so sweet and taught me so much. First movie in a theatre..I don't remember but probably a superhero movie. My dad and I go to them all. Who doesn't love a good superhero movie! Last movie I watched- I am pretty busy so don't get a lot of time to watch many movies. Over Christmas we sat down and watched some locally made films we had been meaning to watch- The Disappeared, Cast No Shadow and I think a few others. Plus I got to see Room which I loved. Go to movie snack- I am a popcorn type of girl Anything to plug- I have had some pretty cool auditions lately, including a call back for something shooting in Toronto which would be so amazing to film there, but haven't heard anything yet. So nothing to report. I am dying to go on set again! I just finished my competitive dance season and was a top 6 solo finalist at Dance Ambition. I am working on new figure skating solo's for my competitive skating season which starts in august.

Today we are excited to do the third installment of our #OWPInterviews Series with the wonderful Jessica Murwin. We've been lucky to know Jess for awhile now, and think her intelligent attitude, kickass courage, and mad skillz make for one of the loveliest filmmakers, and people, we know. Here's a photo with her and OWP Co-Founder Lora Campbell looking straight up amazing. (Photo Credit: Venus Envy) ... Name: Jessica Murwin Occupation: Independent Filmmaker and Festival Programmer How have you worked with OWP in the past: I first met the dynamic duo behind OWP when I was running a pre-professional training program call FILM 5 and they were participants. Since then we have had a great working relationship and friendship! Favourite OWP moment: All of them. Having met Lora and Lisa when they were just starting out in film, it has been amazing watching them absolutely flourish since FILM 5. Filmmakers who inspire you: I find a lot of inspiration in the work of friends and contemporaries, especially when I am programming. For my own work I am really inspired by Jennifer Reeder and Jeff Barnaby. First movie you saw in theatres: I think the first movie I saw in theatres was the Lion King. It feels like a long time ago! Last movie you watched: I am pre-screening for TIFF at the moment so I am watching a lot of films I can't talk about just yet wink emoticon But before that ... Cruel Intentions (1999) Go to movie snack: I don't really like to eat during movies, but I did once sneak a salmon dinner into a screening of Return of the King. Anything to plug?: I am currently working on a short animated film about fatphobia that will hopefully find its way out into the world in early 2017! I am also producing 2 short films - V.E.DAY (dir. Courtney Kelsey and Zac Barkhouse) and Night Swimmer (dir. Bretten Hannam) heading to festivals later this year!

Our second interview is with Michael Cowie! We had the pleasure of working with Mike as a first ad on "Two Penny Road Kill", which is where Brent McCombs took the photo below. He's the kind of guy who agrees that sometimes the best meetings are held at the lake! Mike's an awesome ad, and we are excited for him and the new Toronto chapter of his life. Thanks for all you do, Mike! Occupation: 1st AD ... Favourite OWP moment: working with Lisa Snow and Lora Campbell! Filmmakers who inspire me: Alejandro Inarritu, Coen bros., Wes Anderson First movie in theatre: E T! Last movie: The Revenant Go to movie snack: chips, any kind. Today's #OWPplaces is the amazing William F. White International Inc. We have had the pleasure of working with this company on a number of our projects, including Age of Reason and Two Penny Road Kill. They provide all kinds of different gear necessary to make a film, and we always feel super cool when their trucks are parked in our yard, like the day this baby pulled up for When Fish Fly. We appreciate how hard they work and how supportive they are of filmmakers at all stages of their craft.
