An interesting session coming up! CSARN presents a FREE seminar with John A. Myers - Intellectual Property Protection and Enforcement For Artists Date: Monday, January 27, 2020... Time: 10:00 am-12:00 pm Location: Taylor McCaffrey LLC (2200-201 Portage Ave) Cost: Free! Contact for more info and registration: A free seminar on Copyright and Intellectual Property for artists. The seminar leader is award-winning entertainment lawyer John A. Myers partner at Taylor McCaffrey LLP. Mr. Myers is also a former stage manager, technical director, and sound designer. In this session, you will learn about some of the tools used by the creative community to protect works of artistic expression and industrial property. In addition to being creators of artistic works, you often have to rely on the artistic works of other creators. Learn how to identify material that needs to be cleared/licensed for your particular use. This session will begin with a formal presentation of various types of intellectual property and there will be plenty of time for questions. For many years, the PAL Board has been working hard to create affordable housing for our senior members of Winnipeg's vibrant performing and allied professions. We are pleased to be working with the UWinnipeg Community Renewal Corp (UWCRC) for space in the new housing complex directly across from the Winnipeg Art Gallery's new Inuit Art Centre. It is scheduled for completion the summer of 2020. We invite you to attend an information session to learn about this exciting affordable housing opportunity.
