Paper Plate Christmas Ornament
Hands and Feet Holiday Wreath YOU WILL NEED: Red and green paint... Paint tray Paint brush White bristol board or large white paper Tape (for older kids) Plastic drop cloth/tablecloth or other sheet to cover your area Washcloth and towel for cleaning WITH OLDER CHILDREN: Lay down your sheet, tape the edges to the floor, then tape your paper to the sheet. WITH YOUNGER CHILDREN: Either leave the paper loose, so that you can pick it up to press it to the child's foot, or tape it down and pick up the child to press their foot down each time. STEPS: 1. Fill paint trays, one with red and one with green. 2. Wet your washcloth, and set aside with the dry towel to clean up easily and quickly. 3. Mark on your paper where you want footprints to be 4. Take your childs foot and paint it entirely, then have them step down on the marked spot (or help them if younger). Paint feet one colour, and hands another colour. 5. Repeat painting feet and hands until the entire wreath is filled in. 6. Write your holiday message and year in the centre, or over the entire wreath.
Thankful Jar To use the thankful jar, family members record things they are thankful for onto a slip of paper and drop it into the jar. Over time the jar will start to fill up. You can decide how long you would like to do this for. It could be a week, a month, or a whole year! Make it a special time for your family to talk about and realize all they have to be thankful for. Materials... 1 jar Paint Markers Glue Small pieces of paper Pen, marker 1. Decide how long a time period you will be doing your Thankful Jar for and how often you will be putting slips of paper into the jar. 2. If you want to decorate your jar with your children, then do that now. You can use markers, paint, collage tissue paper on it to make it look however your family would like. Once complete, place your jar somewhere visible. 3. At the time decided in your week, come together as a family to individually write on the slips of paper and then post them into the jar. If you have younger children, talk about what they have done this week to remind them, the little things as well as the big. It might be easier to do one every day with them and then at the end of the week pick their favourite one. Great activity to incorporate into a bedtime routine! 4. At the end of your decided Thankful Jar time, pour them all out and read them.
Fall Matching Game Cut out the cards or just make your own and let's see who can remember where the cards are!
