+ Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. + Rev. Roger Pittelko was Bishop of the English District when the Lutheran Church Canada formed and Peace chose to stay with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Gord tells Pastor that Bishop Pittelko was very nice and helped Peace through the process. Dr. Pittelko started teaching part time at the Fort Wayne seminary after retiring as Bishop, and was one of Pastor's favourite professors. (And don't let this solemn picture fool you - he had a twinkle in his eye, a joy in his heart, and a ready chuckle.) +++ The Rev. Dr. Roger D. Pittelko, Elk Grove Village, IL, was called to glory on Thursday, November 12, 2020. Pastor Pittelko served as the Bishop/President of the English District from 1987-1997. In addition, he was a professor at Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, IN from 1998-2003 and served as the fourth Vice President of the Synod from 1998-2001. No services are planned at this time due to COVID-19. Interment will be at Trinity Prayer Garden, Villa Park, IL. We pray the Lord’s blessings on the entire Pittelko family. See more
