Happy Adoption Eddie! We adopted Doc 1 week ago.. and promptly renamed the wobbly kitty to "Steady Eddie" Eddie is a cuddler and emulates our lovely 10 yr old Jazzy on her bed... They often sleep in the same position. He has started to find his voice, and uses it to tell us he wants to be picked up... or when he needs some help. Jazzy was curious and unsure for a day or so...but as you can see has accepted it all, and deferred half her bed for Eddie.

Happy Adoption Lily! I am sitting here on the first day of 2021 with Lily (formerly Mrs Joan Rivers) on my lap. I adopted her, I think, about two years ago. So, she is about 4 years old now. When I adopted her she was a year and a half. She bit me frequently, attacked my previously adopted cat and was like a ninja warrior prepared to kill me if I let my guard down. I could not leave her unconfined if I had company as she attacked feet like they were a new toy. She, I thought..., wasn’t vicious...she was young and needed to be outside and have more stimulation. Unfortunately, I tried outside and believed she was at significant risk on the road if I let her run free. I considered taking her back but I thought she would be a danger to small children and might not be adoptable. No doubt even today I think she would be happier on an acreage with freedom to roam. However, she is with me and I love her. So, I built an extensive outdoor maze of tree climbing, running but all enclosed. She has caught mice...and I am sad to say birds, that venture into her outside enclosure. We walk on leash to woods. In only the last three or four months...she wants to get under the covers and snuggle to sleep at night. If I sit down she wants to be on my lap. So, I write this to those who don’t adopt the kitty that purrs and cuddles from day one. My Lily didn’t purr for six months. I have had cats my whole life and have never had a cat like Lily. She has been difficult and totally worth every minute. The greatest gift of 2021 was both cats on the bed, happily lying beside each other. Never thought it could happen!

Consider becoming a monthly donor for as little as $.33 cents a day. Here is our campaign star Piper smiling during the holidays in her new home.
