Penrose Fish & Chips

We found this cookbook, Out of old Nova Scotiain a little sharing library in Toronto! It holds so many recipes that we have enjoyed on the east coast, including a great one for finnan haddie ( smoked Haddock) which we used to sell in Penrose in the 1950s and 1960s.

We can't help but feel nostalgic on days like today! It's been almost 3 years since we closed our doors - boy how time flies! We still miss the warm smiles that our guests brought to our faces every day.

Eating Halibut and Chips instead of cooking Fish and Chips. Fond memories of Good Friday madness, our staff working above and beyond, homemade Lemon Meringue Pies and chatting with our loyal customers. Thank you.
