Many of our great pioneering ministers died year after year.Pastor Meliton Zarsuelo, Pastor Celedonio Ompad Pastor Arturo Martinez to name a few. ... They are pillars of the great pioneering years since 1957 when UPC came to the Philippines. Giving Tribute to a person is good. You are remembering what he has done in the past. You want to thank him for the tremendous labor he has done, for all the accomplishments, the time, efforts, hardships and because of this you are now enjoying the benefits of this great sacrifice. We normally give Tribute after the person died. I think this is too late. Why not give Recognition while they're still alive. They will hear all your comments, they can laugh with you, they will feel the warmth of the love of the brethren. They will be inspired of the appreciation and even taste the food if you prepared something. I think we must Recognize and appreciate our pastor before they die. Remember they will not ask for it. They will not even ask someone to organize it for them. There are 3 things we must do for our Pastors; 1. HONOR THEM 1 Timothy 5:17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. 2. OBEY THEM Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. 3. REMEMBER THEM Hebrews 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. The church should consider a day of remembrance a big day in honor of our beloved worker of God. Eduardo Arquines

God will loose nothing but you, your every thing. Many are called but few are chosen... it's a privilege to serve the Lord.... PSALMS 27:4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
