2020 Frozen Finger (Garnet Dodge Memorial Shoot) Glooscap Heritage Archers Association On behalf of G.H.A.A. we would like to thank the Municipality of West Han...ts and all patrons who usually use the Irishman’s Rd trails, for the closure of the park on February 23rd so we could host this outdoor event. We close the park from 8 am to 5 pm for safety reasons for all. The Frozen Finger is the kickoff event to the Nova Scotia 3-D Outdoor Archery season. This event is hosted by G.H.A.A. and the Traditional Archery Association of Nova Scotia. This year we had 77 archers compete and ranged in age categories from 10 yrs. old to 75 yrs. +. Each year we have a special award to the highest single round in the Traditional archery classes in memory of Garnet Dodge who was a member of our club and a Traditional archer who has passed on. This year’s winner is Sheldon Ryan with a high single round of 326 in the Senior Instinctive Class. We were very pleased with the turn out this year being the highest number of shooters in a few years (35 Traditional and 42 Compound shooters). It was a great day for a shoot as the weather was very sunny and warm for this time of year. G.H.A.A. would like to thank the many corporate and non-corporate sponsors for all the wonderful door prizes we received for the shoot, large or small they all mean a lot. I would rather not single any one out as all contributions are appreciated by those who win them. We would also like to thank Melanie Lefler, President of the Archery Association of Nova Scotia for collecting FCA Insurance before the event and also supplying score cards and the ANS Banner. G.H.A.A. would like thank those for all the wonderful comments about our Club and our events as it is important to us on how we are doing to support Archery in Nova Scotia. Millbrook 3D Archers invites you to their traditional only 3D outdoor tournament on Sunday, September 29, 2019. We will have 2 rounds of 20 stations and 2 arrows per station. All 3D targets are Rinehart animals. Registration starts at 8:30 am and the first round will start at 9:30 am. Registration fees are $20. There will be a BBQ for lunch for a nominal fee.... SHOOT CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULE NOTICE: Due to the pending weather warning for this weekend, Glooscap Heritage Archers has opted to reschedule this shoot to Sunday, October 27th, due to availability on the schedule and when the range renovations will be completed for archer use (to commence Monday Sep 9).
