Hi Port Alberni! We are excited to announce that we will be re opening Tuesday May 19. In order to keep your experience a safe one, we have implemented some extra precautions so we can all feel comfortable having treatment in person.... The gym area will be closed and each patient will be treated in one room only. A 15 minute break will be implemented after each appointment to allow for extra cleaning, and masks will be mandatory for both the patient and Physiotherapist. Appointment times will be staggered and we are encouraging online payments to keep the waiting area clear. It is also expected that if you have travelled out of the country or felt unwell within 14 days prior to your appointment, that you call to reschedule. For those wishing or needing to stay home, we will be keeping virtual appointments so you can start your road to recovery without having to leave the house. Call to book an appointment at 250-723-5112 or book online at paphysio.ca
FACT OF THE DAY: The word "muscle" comes from the Latin term meaning "little mouse", which is what Ancient Romans thought flexed bicep muscles resembled. Now is the time to start waking up some of those muscles you thought you never had. Exercise and building strength is a key component to Physiotherapy. We are continuing to help people achieve their goals through audio and video consults. Book online at paphysio.ca or call 250-723-5112 for more information
DID YOU KNOW? Nerve impulses sent from the brain travel at 274km/h Nerve pain can be hard to live with. During this period of social distancing we are offering video and audio consults to help people manage their pain. Book now at paphysio.ca or call 250-723-5112 for more information

FACT OF THE DAY: The average 4 year old asks 450 questions a day! I am really noticing this right now, being home with a 5 and a 3 year old. Even though we are on lock down, im sure people have a a lot of questions about their injuries. We are offering video and audio consults to help people manage their pain, without having to leave the house. Book now at paphysio.ca or call 250-723-5112 for more information
INTERESTING FACT: A person is 8mm taller in the morning than in the evening. The reason behind this is that as we sleep, the discs in between our vertebrae, are replenished with water. Many people report an increase in stiffness and pain in their lower back in the morning. This might be due to an injury to one of your discs. During this time we are closed to clinic visits but we can provide crucial education, recommendations and advice via our online services. Book now at paphysio.ca or call 250-723-5112 for more information
INTERESTING FACT: 1/4 of your bones are in your feet! There are many reasons as to why we experience foot pain. During this time we are closed to clinic visits but we can provide crucial education, recommendations and advice via our online services. Book now at paphysio.ca or call 250-723-5112 for more information

For all the ladies who are missing Pilates right now. Becky and Bill are awesome!
Update: We are now officially closed until further notice. However, we will be offering a new online service for video and audio consults. After over 30 years of being in the same spot we have decided to move. Although the office on 9th Avenue has been fondly referred to as the dungeon or the room with a view we decided it was time for an upgrade. Our new location at 4445 Gertrude Street boasts 9ft ceilings, wall to wall windows, private treatments rooms, a 450 sq ft gym and an ELEVATOR! Even though our location has changed we will still continue to provide the same great treatment that you have come to expect over the years at Port Alberni Physiotherapy Clinic. Thank you to everyone who has made this possible!
Ready and waiting for the runners at macleans mill #triconicchallenge #portalberni
HAPPY EASTER from all of us at the clinic! Please note: We will be closed this Friday (March 30th) but OPEN April 2nd!!!
Physiotherapy is not just about getting "hooked up to a machine and getting acupuncture".... its about education and impacting the lives and beliefs of our clients. Doctors give medicine, surgeons do surgery to repair tissues... Physiotherapists have the opportunity to not just reduce pain and improve function.. but we also can change a person.... We get to send more time with patients to create a real connection with the person. Movement is our medicine, and we are specialists in movement. If you havent tried Physiotherapy yet, give us a try ;)
