Island Health is asking us in #albernivalley #portalberni to double down on our efforts to help stop the spread of COVID. Central Island is currently experien...cing the highest rate of positive cases on Vancouver Island. As of November 19th there were 76 active cases in Central Island, an over 500% increase since November 10th. Compared with a 40% increase in active cases in South Island, and 55% increase in active cases on North Island. We must continue to: Limit social interactions to our immediate household. Masks must be worn in all indoor public settings. Limit travel to essential travel only. Wash your hands often. Limit time in public places to essential trips only. If you are feeling sick, stay at home. Visit bc.thrive.health to determine your next steps. https://bit.ly/3fr54K

Often we don’t think about emergency kits until we already need them. Check out this post from the Alberni Valley Emergency Program for a chance to win your own 72-Hour kit. It’s also a great page to follow now. In a major emergency their page will be one of the primary sources of up-to-date information. #emergencykit #greatinfo #sweetlogo

If Vancouver Island were to be impacted it would not be for a number of hours as indicated on the attached map. Standby for further updates.
