The freezing rain throughout our region has certainly given everything a "new" look. Take extra time while driving today. Most main roads are wet, while many secondary roadways remain icy, with slushy spots and very slippery.

The Potter's Towing team is currently doing the best we can with keeping up with the service demands due to the high winds and blowing snow. As of late this afternoon, for everyone's safety, we were asked by the OPP to not winch any vehicles from the ditches until the weather clears. Tonight and through tomorrow, be aware of emergency services working roadside, including tow trucks, plows and disabled vehicles. We ask that you give yourself extra travel time when weather con...ditions permit and be vigilant of rapidly changing road conditions. Always travel with an emergency kit, including a cell phone and charger. STAY IN YOUR CAR! Far too often, people exit the vehicle. This is not only vary dangerous for you, it adds to everything that we are watching out for. We will approach you and give directions from there. Driving is NOT recommended tonight or early morning until such time as this storm subsides. Only travel if absolutely necessary. **Some area roads have been CLOSED due to poor conditions, including but not limited to; *Hwy 402 in both directions, Lakeshore Rd (Camlachie - Mandaumin), *OPEN Forest Rd. from the 402 to Forest. *Oil Heritage Rd from the 402 to Lakeshore *Lakeshore Rd from Oil Heritage Rd to Townsend line. Thank You to OPP for assisting us when needed and to the local Fire Depts and EMS! If your car is in the ditch, stuck or in need of another service, please give us a call and we will do our very best at keeping up with the service standards you expect! Recently, we were faced with a challenge of removing a car from behind a guardrail on Highway 402. With slippery roads and very limited time, we recovered this vehicle with a backwards pull from our truck MP-18. It is always a great feeling to receive such accolades from the customer and OPP for a job well done after they had worried that this would become a challenging task.

We have become very dependent on computers to assist us throughout our day to day operations, including relying on our GPS to guide us to our destination. At times, such as this, the GPS guided the driver down an impassable road. In fairness to the driver, the road was 100% solid to this point. The Potter's Towing team was quick to get the truck and driver back to solid ground.

We are out tonight in full force. Over the past few hours, our local roads have deteriorated rapidly and have become very slick.
