This Saturday Nov 30 Sequential Circus 25 lands at The Beaumont! Robbie Slade is a featured artist playing live. Check out what he has to say: I kind of don’t believe in bios, because you invariably have to write them yourself. And so, every artist, faced with writing their own bio, comes to a fork in the road. A fork in the road that forever cements their fate as one of two people: the guy who wrote a long passage about himself in the third person (barf) or the guy who d...oesn’t have a bio. So what I’ve decided to do is write a personal love letter to whoever is reading this, in the hopes that it sheds a little light on who i am as a person. On November 30th I’m taking the big plunge and sharing a live performance of some of the many songs I’ve written in the last year or so. I’m going to be playing live in the way that I’ll be using Ableton to trigger a few different synthesizers and drum machines and singing and playing accompaniment. This is big for me, and also backwards in a way, because over the course of my artistic career, I’ve always written music purely for the therapeutic effect it has on me, and in an effort to stay connected the harmony of the universe, rather than with the explicit intent of sharing them beyond my own micro orbit. So why share them you ask? Well, I kind of think they’re good. Some of them anyway. And i think that people might enjoy sharing in them with me. AND its cool to reflect that little ripple of my interpretation of the vibrations that are happening all around us in case it gets passed along. Basically I don’t want to be a dead end for creative energy because i think what goes around, comes around maaaan. So - I hope you, the reader will be at the Beaumont on November 30th, and we can talk about what a weird bio this is. . Tickets link in bio. . Proper is pleased to assist in bringing SC25 to you.
Nov 30 Sequential Circus returns! SC25 featuring Toni Savaggio. Toni tells us a bit about his musical journey: In the beginning I lived in Berlin with my brother Rudi. Like many at that time, I produced techno. I experimented like a scientist. I started to play live, sometimes using instruments. I watched as my audiences showed surprise and then excitement. I searched for signature sound. I released music. I made good friends. I made music with them. And sometimes they came... to join the party. Now I live in Vancouver. Sometimes I perform here. Or other places. So come find me. I won’t alienate you. I’ll hold you close. Whoever you are. Check out his website for more info: http://www.savaggio.com/ Link for Advance Tickets in our bio. Proper is proud to partner with Sequential Circus to bring you Sequential Circus 25.

This Saturday - Nov 30 - brp will be opening his toolbox at Sequential Circus 25. brp (yes, decidedly lowercase for the record) is a Sequential Circus 19 alumnus and has been making electronic music for almost 25 years. Originally a Guitarist, while working as a live Audio Engineer in the early 90's and also resident DJ for a popular Alternative & Industry Dance club night, he became exposed to and influenced by the club's House music, the Techno DJ & Live P.A. scene explodin...g out of the nearby Detroit/Windsor area as well as the UK and American Big Beat Artists beginning to climb the Pop charts at the time. This led to brp home production projects, duo collaborations live and in studio with Toronto based Producer Cosmo Suave (RIP) and others and eventually his own Live P.A. Sets. Forward to today, these sets heavily emphasize live, spontaneous mixes and performance techniques using modular synthesizers, expressive control surfaces and a classic drum machine, creating organic evolutions of intertwining, bubbling acid lines and elements of all of the genres mentioned above as well as some TechHouse and darker Techno leanings. Each set is unique and influenced by the vibe of the moment, so on this night you can expect a one-off live incarnation of all of this powdered with lovingly curated Pop and Soul vocal hooks, enthralling sub bass explorations, possibly some funk guitar break sampling and always a focus on being fun, evocative and most of all danceable. . Proper is proud to help present Sequential Circus and it’s long-running mission to provide a home for live electronic music in Vancouver!

If you've stopped by the Proper page in the last little while, you've probably noticed the Sequential Circus banner in our header. Perhaps you've wondered what that's about. We are partnering with Sequential Circus in presenting the next event (#25) on November 30, four weeks from tonight. Sequential Circus 25 Sequential Circus has played an important role in Vancouver by providing opportunities for a wide range of live electronic music performers a platform to play to live a...udiences. Live performance, in whatever form it takes, often takes a backseat in music scenes that have developed such a strong focus on DJs. Sequential Circus' mandate of promoting live performances sets it apart and delivers a vital service for both audiences and producers/performers by allowing them to connect with each other across the varied spectrum of musical styles while being able to experience aspects of the creative spark that brings this music into being. SC25 has a strong Vancouver talent lined up. We're looking forward to sharing the experience with everyone and checking out music from: Nicole Goodman Savaggio Apollo Robbie Slade brp
