Christmas shopping in a pandemic and other things they didn't teach you in grocery school. Christmas week is the busiest week of the year and Christmas Eve the busiest day. This year we have to maintain social distancing while serving our customers. We will be limiting the number of customers in the store at any one time. To avoid line-ups please consider shopping earlier in the week. The best times to avoid instore traffic are before 3 or after 6. On Christmas eve we will s...erve everyone who is in line at 5pm even if this means staying later than our posted hours. Please consider having one family member do your shopping. It will allow us to serve more customers. Our staff will be working before opening and after closing to fill shelves to make social distancing easier for everyone. We are limited to the number of curbside pick-up orders we can do so please send your order to [email protected] by 5pm Tuesday to avoid disappointment. We will not be doing curbside pick-up on Christmas Eve or New Years Eve because we can't safely do it. 2020 has brought many challenges. The stress of Covid has affected everyone, none more so than health care workers. Retail workers have been affected too and Viki and I would like to Thank our dedicated staff who have faced the fear of transmission, the extra work involved in serving our customers safely, the abuse of anti-maskers and the uncertainty that each day rules may change. They are brave and kind and altogether wonderful. We all wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy and healthy New Year. Thank you to all of you who tried to keep us safe.

COVID19 UPDATE Effective June 8 2020 we will be revising our store hours as follows: Monday - Friday 8am - 8pm Saturday 8am - 6pm... Sunday 11am - 5pm We are extending our hours in the hope of spreading out our business to help with social distancing. We request that customers continue to practise social distancing and have only two persons per family come into the store to shop. We are still not accepting empty beer or liquor containers or selling lottery. With almost 4000 active cases and hundreds of new cases daily in the province we do not believe it is safe for our staff who are all food handlers to handle empties. If we had dedicated staff and storage for empties it would be possible but that is what the Beer Store already provides and we cannot.. Lottery is a problem because of social distancing. We don't have the space to provide a separate check-out and a separate self-check station. It is not worth the risk to our customers and the staff to make a few more dollars off of a non essential item. Thank you for your support. Please be safe and be kind. See more

A Love Letter From Pym's To Wellesley. Thank you for practising social distancing. It really does make us all safer. Thank you for all your kind comments and encouragement.. I feel that I am getting all the love and my employees are doing all the work but I will pass it on to them Thank you to all of you who have offered us volunteer help. There are too many names to mention and I'm afraid I may miss someone but it really means a lot. Thank you to Janet Foster and Sharon Gerb...er for sewing us face masks. Thank you for the donations of gloves and steriliser. Thank you to the donor who generously made it possible for us to give out $20 gifts of kindness. Thank you to our employees who are willing to risk their health to serve our customers. Thank you to my family. They have to put up with me when I'm stressed and have worked in the store right beside me. Thank you to Wellesley for supporting us for 33 years and understanding the changes we have had to make. We are all looking forward to getting back to the old way of doing business but it is going to take time. Thank you for understanding See more

Safest way to shop is one person per family shops for food once per week. With most businesses closed and no gatherings allowed, the likely spot for community transmission is the grocery store. We appreciate your business, you are our friends, neighbours, and family and one of the cornerstones of our business is convenience BUT THIS IS A CRISIS. Everyone should probably wear a mask but we can't source any. Everyone should wear gloves but I have had to make three trips to su...ppliers to get barely enough for our staff's needs. I am a grocer not a cop. I don't want to police your shopping habits. I am only adding my voice to that of every sane politician and health official in the world because some people still aren't getting it. My kids are working in the store and every staff member is somebody's kid. Every time you come in you are increasing their risk of exposure and yours. If the health risks aren't enough to convince you, pretend grocery stores are night clubs and there is a $20 a head cover. Would you and your family of four spend $80 to get a bag of milk and a loaf of bread? Maybe that's a suggestion for our Premier. Sure would stop people coming in three times a day. If you're still reading, you probably agree with me. If you don't agree, hopefully you're so angry at me that you won't come in to the store at all which serves the purpose of reducing contact. This week is Easter week which besides being a time to remember sacrifice and celebrate rebirth is the busiest week in the grocery trade. We only have 5 days to do 7 days of business. Plan well, be safe. Because of a donation from a family in the community we have doing random acts of kindness. If you have been a recipient or just a good neighbour it's time to pay it forward. Be kind, phone friends, family or a neighbour. Maybe you could help someone by getting their prescription or groceries when you get yours. Down with the " me generation" nonsense. We are a community.
