Well this is turning into a summer to remember. The border is closed for another month and maybe even more. All our America friends are on hold again. Just to let all the cabin owners from the US know the the staff ( Me&Carol) at RLBT are on the lake every day. If you need a cabin security check or some lawn mowing done please message me and I will take care of it. All work is done with confidentiality and trustworthy and always at a reasonable rate. We were mowing a lawn ...in the North Arm today and this is what we found at a cabin of a client from Texas. Don’t let this happen to you. Thank you everyone for your support. Al&Carol. See more
Lovely morning for a 40 mile barge ride. Be safe and healthy out there everybody. Al&Carol.
Headed north today and got some things done. Hooking up docks and just riding around. Pics of the Covid gangsters! Lol. Also stopped by the historical Steamboat Shoal. Found the boiler from the sunken steamboat that gave that reef it’s name. Be safe out there everybody.
Wow. Second post same day. Didn’t go to the North Arm today but was all the way to Red Gut. Sand Bay,Windy Point, Swell Bay, Bears Pass, Red Gut all open. Seine Bay East of Rocky Narrows still plugged up. Will check out the North Arm tomorrow.

Launched the barge this morning. Now all the boats are in the water. Heading north tomorrow morning to pick up some VIP’s who haven’t see town for a while. I’ll post tomorrow evening with current lake conditions.

Spring is finally here. Warm temps all week with no freezing in the forecast. Carol and I are scrambling to get the boats ready. Boat Taxi hitting the water tomorrow at the 5 Mile. The Barge splashdown will be Friday morning. Sand Bay is open and we have already seen several boats that come from Sorting Gap Marina. The Causeway is as far as you can go. The North Arm is still plugged with ice. I will be attempting to head north on the weekend. I will report my progress then.... Here is a couple of pics taken from the tower 2 hours ago. This is the same spot I snowmobiled from 2 weeks ago. Happy Spring! Be safe out there. See more

As spring approaches here on Rainy Lake people would normally be gearing up for the summer and heading to the cabin. Things are much different this year as everyone in the world is hunkered down and battling a pandemic that is nothing like anybody has ever experienced before. One of the issues that many of the lake residents are faced is the border closure. Here at Rainy Lake Boat Taxi our spring is going to be much different. We will have all our boats in the water as so...on as the ice is off the lake. Our service’s will be focusing on cabin care and having things ready for the cabin owners once the border opens. Carol& I have been giving it much thought on what we could do. We could do lawn and yard maintenance, servicing of solar batteries,if we have access to the cabin we could check on rodent intrusion and minor cabin cleaning. Also do regular property security checks. We would of course do our regular spring chores like hooking up floating docks. All services will be done at a reasonable rate. We have gained the trust of many property owners so all work will done with honesty and confidentiality. If you would like RLBT to take care of things up here please call, text or email with your list for a quote. Most importantly we hope that everyone is staying healthy and following the guidelines on what it takes to defeat Covid 19. Thank you and god bless. Did a little social distancing today. Burned a brush pile in Alexandria Bay today. Safest time of the year to do it. And a lovely day for a rip on our sleds.

Well good morning everybody. As March begins so does the first signs of spring. The days are getting longer and temps are not so bitter. The lake for winter travel has much improved since earlier in January. We have finished our vacation season and had a fabulous time. We seen many new sites and had fun visiting family and friends. Now is time to get down to business. We are building a floating dock for a client now and in a couple of weeks will start on a barge renovation ...which should increase the barge payload. I am very happy to announce that there will be no price increase in 2020 for any RLBT services. It’s too early for spring ice out predictions but stay tuned for more updates to follow. Here are some pics of our winter adventures. Thanks everyone for your support. Al&Carol See more
It looks like 2019 has went out like a lion. With very cold temps over the last 4 days the lake has begun to freeze. The main part of the lake is still open. Most of the bays and shallow parts are all froze. It’s definitely early. We have pulled the Boat Taxi out 3 days ago. The crew here at RLBT has had another great year. We are ready for a much needed vacation. It all starts back up for us in March getting everything ready for 2020. We want to thank all our clients who... called on us this past summer. Here are some pics from the season. Hope to see you all again in 2020! Al&Carol. See more

Bitter sweet. Last week on the barge. Fantastic weather. No rain but cold. Pulling the barge out tomorrow. Not going to get caught in the ice like last year. Boat Taxi will remain in the lake for another couple weeks or more. Here are some barging pics from the last week. Happy Halloween everybody! ... Al&Carol. See more

RLBT now has floating dock weights in stock for spring delivery. These bad boys weigh in at around 500 lbs and have heavy duty galvanized hardware. We can deliver and install.
