2020 brought untold challenges for Canadians, and well everyone. Many people remain out of work, and something as simple as going to school has never been more challenging. We have all been affected. At the outset of lockdown, we were uncertain what the year would hold for our business, as well. We just want to say thank you. Thank you to everyone that is part of the Rancho Vignola community for showing kindness, patience, and compassion to your neighbours and fellow Canadi...ans. Despite the grief, anxiety, pressure, and frustration, we have seen the year’s adversity bring out the very best in countless people, communities, and organizations. Small businesses have been hurt immensely. Irrecoverably, in many cases. And so we also want to express our incredible gratitude to everyone that continues to support small businesses like ours, along with the community of farmers and food producers around the world that work hard to bring us healthy, nutritious food. Thank you, from our family to yours. May your holidays and new year be filled with kindness, kinship, and a much-needed opportunity to reconnect and share with those closest to you.

It’s the day before the big day! With last minute holiday preparation, and high-energy youngsters playing long hours in the snow during their time off, it could be that you’re looking for a last-minute snack or dessert idea. Our Raspberry Chocolate Oat Bars are just the ticket. With ground cloves, raspberry jam, and dark chocolate chips these bars are easy to make in a single baking dish. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge until hunger strikes again. Just remember to leave a few out for Santa! https://www.ranchovignola.com/recipe/88#.X9uaXhNKhTY

If you haven't heard yet, we have been getting great news from our almond farmers this year - it's turned out to be a bumper crop! With ideal blooming conditions and favourable early-season weather, the California almond crop is forecast to deliver over three billion pounds - nearly 20% higher than last year. This is mostly the result of larger 'nutsets' per tree, which are being reported in the central and northern parts of the state, while the south is more in line with last season. We can't wait to share this year's almonds with you!

Looking to switch things up from the usual almond milk? Try making this delicious, creamy and smooth Brazil nut milk! This non-dairy option is perfect for smoothies and many other recipes as it has a mild flavour. As an added bonus, Brazil nuts are an excellent source of selenium, making them a great vegetarian protein source! Get the recipe here: https://www.ranchovignola.com/recipe/85#.X6hDcyU1jDu

This is Erin. She joined us in 2016, helping out in the warehouse and then rejoined the team in late 2017 as the coordinator of Rancho Cooling and Property Management. Erin has the daunting task of creating and updating all policy and procedures and ensuring all certifications are up to date. She also recently added human resources and systems coordinator to the many hats that she wears at Rancho! As with many of our incredible team members, she is quick to pivot and can be f...ound filling in and supporting in any area when the need arises. It’s clear she thrives with this sort of agile workplace: One of the things I like the most about working at Rancho Vignola is that it’s always changing. Her favourite recipe is our Pecan Pâté, and she also has some great cooking hacks, including using the little pieces of deliciousness that are left in the bags of flavoured nuts in her baking!
