We are excited to once again be able to present the Ontario Little Buckaroos for the 2020/2021 season! The Ontario Little Buckaroos program is a division of the... Ontario High School Rodeo Association which allows for school aged children from Kindergarten to Grade 5 to participate in youth rodeo events. Our first event of the season will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the TLC Quarter Horses arena in Hillsburgh, Ontario in conjunction with the Junior and High School rodeos. We currently offer dummy roping, dummy goat tying, barrel racing, pole bending and calf riding. Register online at our new website at www.ohsra.ca under the Upcoming Events section. You only need to enter online before the end of day Wednesday, August 26th. Membership forms can be filled out and brought with you to the event to hand in. Since the OHSRA/OLB follows the school season, this is the start of a new competition year and a new membership form will be required. Some COVID-19 procedures will be in place (masks will be available and worn when social distancing is not possible; hand sanitizer will be available and there will be a spray-down of equipment). Our goal is to promote the future of the sport of rodeo and give our young members the opportunity to participate and learn about rodeo; to encourage great horsemanship, sportsmanship and just have fun! We are very grateful to so many for the opportunity to produce our first rodeo of the season this past weekend at the Holstein Agro Expo in Holstein, Ontario in support of the Louise Marshall Memorial Hospital, and to all of the fans and sponsors who supported it. This weekend demonstrated the very culture and traditions that rodeo was built and founded upon and showcased the very nature of what it means to be cowboy. The determination, comradery, team work, passion and suppo...rt that was on display in Holstein will most certainly be one of the most memorable parts of our rodeo career and will not soon be forgotten. We have never been prouder or more grateful for the support and actions of our crew who left so much on the table and who worked so tirelessly over four performances and four slack performances to see this event come to fruition. without you this would not have been possible. You are friends that have become family. To all of the contestants, thank you for your support, your performances, and for your willingness to work within the guidelines set forth by the heath unit. You guys did an amazing job and left the property spotless. We look forward to seeing you all again very soon. Lastly, thank you to the Lewis family and all of the volunteers of the Holstein Agro Expo for all that you did for rodeo this weekend. The extra hours of work, mandated restrictions, procedures and budgetary constraints that were imposed upon you this weekend would have seemed insurmountable, but you found a way in spite of it all.
