Happy Groundhog Day! Wiarton Willie predicted an early spring - meaning it is only a matter of time before we are back enjoying the Island!
Cruising into the first Monday of a new year...Happy 2021! by Melodie Schaffer

Happy New Year! Wishing everyone a safe, happy, and healthy 2021. We look forward to seeing you back at the Club as soon as it is possible.
With the freezing temperatures outside, there is no better time than to do some CALIFORNIA DREAMIN'. Join us tomorrow for an exciting Cruising Squadron winter seminar presented by Kim and Marvin MaGee. They'll describe what it was like living in Newport Beach, California and share their experiences of sailing to the Channel Islands, coastal day trips, racing locally and multi-day ocean competitions. This is one you won't want to miss! Sign up through the online calendar here: http://ow.ly/Nn9850DnV6a
2020 has been a challenging year, but as we reflect on all that we were able to accomplish this year despite the pandemic, we are extremely grateful for our community of Members and Staff that have made this past year one of the most memorable in the history of the Club! by Melodie Schaffer
Throwback to Pat Your Boat Day in 1989. Who else is missing their boat right about now?

Get the most out of the Island this fall (especially these sunny October days)... The Verandah & Sailors' Bar are open for dinner tonight and tomorrow from 5:00pm - 7:00pm.
A triple rainbow made an appearance at the Club today! Thank you to Judy Hauserman for capturing this magical moment.
Throwback Thursday to the 1896 Canada's Cup crew (in very seasonally appropriate sweaters). Pictured in the centre is Æmilius Jarvis, in Club attire, who skippered the victorious Canada.
Reminder that our new Launch schedule came into effect yesterday. Until October 18th, Kwasind will run from 7:45am to 8:00pm (with service every half hour). Meaning - there is still plenty of time to enjoy fall activities on the Island! by: Marnie Keith-Murray
The racing season continues! Join RCYC’s inaugural Turkey Bowl on Saturday, October 10th for a mid-distance race similar to Commodore’s Cruise or TGIF. Open to all sailboats racing will be scored by PHRF rating. Register for the event at https://rcyc.ca/2020Regattas
Commodore’s Cruise - what a sight! We counted 60+ boats on the course this past Saturday, ranging from Optis and Lasers to 50’ keelboats. These Canadian sailors know how to dress warmly and make the most of light wind for our annual Last Mast Blast. It’s difficult to capture the impact of seeing all these smiling faces out together in a familiar setting again. Thanks to all that came out to enjoy the day, the support behind the scenes from Members & staff to make this happen..., along with those that are staying home but cheering us on every step of the way. Great to see so many Members on the island through the summer and now continuing to fall sailing! Up Next: Turkey Bowl this Saturday, October 10th. Open to all boats, this NEW mid-distance race will mimic Commodore’s Cruise and TGIF to start this Thanksgiving the right way! https://www.cognitoforms.com/RCYC1/RCYCTurkeyBowlOctober10th
The sun is rising for a beautiful day! Last Mast Blast is here - see you on the island to celebrate our sailing season with our Champion of Champions regatta, Commodore’s Cruise and awards.
Fall activities are here! Our maintenance team is taking advantage of the great weather with a little lagoon cruise in the kayaks. Get out and explore the island channels with our club boats!
It may be fall, but there is still lots of time to get out of the water! Enjoy the crisp air and stunning scenery that comes with this new season. See you on the water! by: Michael Egberts & Catherine Kierans
Yesterday marked our last official midweek race. Thank you to everyone who came out this summer - and made it one to remember! A huge Thank You also to the Race Management Team and the Sailing Office whose efforts and commitment ensured everything ran smoothly from the very first week! Throwback Thursday to 1937 when R.M.S. Cambria, a 'Short Empire Flying Boat', was moored at the south shore of the RCYC lagoon.
And that's a wrap on summer! It was an unusual season, but we are so thankful that we were able to make the most of it (also - don't worry there are still lots of fall activities to look forward to at the Club)! Photo by: Michael & Catherine Egberts
Great day in the harbour with almost 100 Opti and Laser sailors competing in the Fall Dinghy Regatta today. Meanwhile J105s and VX Ones race out on the lake!
