What does supporting local mean to you? When I google "what is considered local" it says roughly 100 miles so for us Candians 160 kms. So we (at Re:mind) have two classifications hyper local and local. Hyper local is within 45 kms and also our delivery radius! Why does this matter? Well when we are looking for suppliers for the store we do everything in our power to find "local" suppliers because that's important to us. But it's also important that the suppliers who we b...ring into the store have the same vision for sustainability and the kindness and love they pour into their products as we pour into our store. But supporting local is more than just the suppliers we bring in. Because we are all trying to survive in this pandemic world, and our communities are fairly small and so connected that prior to bringing in any new supplier while I'm doing my research on them, I also make sure no business within our hyper local area is carrying them. Is this important? I think so! We pride ourselves on finding amazing products that you will love and ones you can't get within the hyper local area. We will continue to do that as we grow with a focus on supporting local and Canadian suppliers (we only have 3 non Canadian suppliers and plan to keep it that way!) and local businesses. Because if we are all going to succeed it can only be done together in our own individual ways. One of the first products I tried from @jesuispure was their Laundry Detergent. I have an allergy to some chemics and break out in hives from certain (most) chemical laundry detergents like Tide or Sunlight. So if I could use this I felt comfortable bringing it in to the store. *Did you know that 33% of skin problems in adults and 44% in children can be linked back to laundry detergent chemicals! They cause an imbalance in the skin's natural pH levels.... A loved one, a stranger on a call line, anyone. This January is particularly "bluer" than most and it's important to give yourself the support you need, so reach out! For me Amber bottles make me think of the good old days, (before I was born for the most part). I remember walking into my first Apothecary (museum) in Niagara on the Lake and thinking one day...one day I'll have this. Amber bottles are important because they protect the the substance inside from UV light but it also blocks blue light and all other light wavelengths under 450 nm. This makes it ideal for storing light-sensitive products. As a refillery we LOVE it when you have... your own containers to fill so we continue to reduce waste. However, if you want to get started with some beautiful amber glass bottles we have them for sale. Typically we would 'add' the bottle to your order, but now you are ordering online so we had to switch things up! If you want our amber bottles you will choose the "intial (product) in dropper bottle or in glass bottle" and it will include the price of the bottle. When it's time to refill or if you have your own container all you need to do is enter how many ml's you want and let us know in the comments you have your own bottle. We will be doing pickups on Tuesdays and Thursdays. And dropping your order off after its filled! We are rolling out a milk man style system this week, which is something we had planned from the beginning but this lockdown has given us time to finally plan it! So stay tuned on how to get natural products without leaving your house!

Our pen pal event is back! Dear Santa was so much fun and our participants had a great time that we've decided to do it again! We bring you Dear Cupid and are excited to partner with @chestersbarandgrillco this time!... One of our last participants said she loved getting her letter and going for a glass of wine at a restaurant and reading her letter and writing her response and I think that's a great idea! Chesters is a great location to grab your letter and have a drink while you learn about someone new! We understand that meeting someone without know who they are can be nerve wrecking, but in reality this way you actually get to know someone without pre-judgement. If your single sign up! Corporal Clayton Knechtel 1893-10-02 to 1974-03-03 This is a "happy" story as Clayton survived the war and returned to Southampton where he was the 5th lightkeeper on Chantry Island, serving from 1937 to 1941.... #bruceremembers @brucecountymuseum

Private Clarence John Nickel 1894-03-30 to 1918-10-15 Less than 1 month before the war was over, he lost his life. He was 24. What were you doing when you were 24? Surely, you weren't hiding in trenches, staying warm by your mates body heat. If you were lucky enough to be in France, you were likely having a hot chocolate and a croissant under the Eiffel tower.... Private Nickel is also listed on the monument for the Southampton School Boys, he is listed as being a farmer before the war. He is listed on the Port Elgin Cenotaph and buried at the Sancourt British Cemetery, Nord, France. Thank you again to the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre for their work in gathering stories, information and documents to help keep these brave soldiers memories alive. #bruceremembers #brucecountymuseum

Private Chester Archie Cunningham 1896-08-30 to 1918-02-14 I could not get through the letter sent home that was published in the newspaper without crying.... This young man was killed in action and was buried at Villers Station Cemetery, Pas De Calais, France. He was a bookkeeper and is listed on the Walkerton cenotaph. While more than a hundred years have passed since this young man lost his life fighting for the lives of men, women and children that he had never met and for the world to be a better place, his life and legacy is one to be remembered. Love and Thanks to this man, family and all the others for putting their lives on the line so that we may never truly know the heartache, trauma and ruthlessness that they voluntarily experienced. You are the best of us.

Strong smells have been a problem for me ever since concussion 2. Whether it's oils, perfume, fruit, cleaners etc. The cleaning aisle at the grocery store is literally an instant trigger for a days long severe headache.
