Are you worried your child is missing out on their education because schools are closed until September? Why not take your children to the cemetery? No! Not like that! The Regina Cemetery is an excellent place to learn about history, society, culture and the people who helped build Regina. You can learn about:... Polly Wilson, the murdered wife of Sgt John Wilson, and the topic of "The Secret Lives of Sgt. John Wilson: A True Story of Love & Murder" by Lois Simmie Cheun "Howie" Lee, the ghost that said to haunt Government House - Saskatchewan. The two ever police officers killed in service in Regina's history (including one that is still unsolved...) James Strathdee, who committing suicide (or did he?) outside Bushwakker Brewing Company and is said to still haunt the building. There's also the many victims of the Regina Cyclone, a "survivor" of the Titanic, and a memorial dedicated to the victims of the last global pandemic, the Spanish Influenza. The cemetery is open every day from 8am - 9pm. If you don't want your kids wandering around the cemetery, they can also explore it virtually at http://reginacemeterytours.ca/
Just a reminder that we were social distancing before it was cool
