I have a couple of close up pictures to show you The last one is the top which I absolutely adore and love how’s it turned out. I wanted some contrast from the rest of the piece, but it was just way to many layers of paint I would have to strip down. That said, I decided to enhance what i already had and I painted layers of Arles, then the final coat of Barcelona Orange I could tell I’m heading somewhere, but then it was to much contrast Then I come up with the idea I’m... going to use dark wax right over the paint/ after the paint dried/ No clear wax!! What a difference it made. All the beautiful dark wax went straight into the texture and darkened the color to the perfect shade. Looks like a charming, old rustic table top Finally I smeared a little color on the top here and there make it look like back then somebody was already trying to strip the paint off #anniesloan #chalkpaint #furnitureartist #capripink #handpainted See more

Love love this new color Capri Pink. It is bold, delicious, versatile and oh so pretty I made the artwork just for this piece based on the hot pink color because I wanted to show you guys it is no any color that would not work with this pink. I painted this large Union Jack dresser many years ago and I photographed it many years ago:) You can tell my staging was my backyard This was the first Union Jack I ever painted/ many followed after this/ and I loved it so much we kept it for our self until just now. We are starting over new house, new ideas and wanted blank canvas, so with heavy heart but I sold this piece. I been exploring different things I havent tried out yet. Finally I put on my big girl pants and stop listening to the voice in my head which was holding me back. Started the days with all positive attitude, not afraid of failure and man Im so happy I did it!! This lovely and striking dresser all hand painted including the artwork above it When I started painting furniture years ago and try to do some new things, many times turned out, lets say: not exactly what I had ...in my mind!! But I never give up!! I cried, i sweared, I asked my hubby for his opinion and just keep doing it all over again!! I had the drive, the desperation to achieve what I was going for! Every time I walk upstairs this is the first view I have and just makes me happy Love the contrast of the white painted floors with the deep charcoal color, love my gallery wall and the forever changing piece of furniture in the corner. We finished painting the kitchen in the cottage!! Yay!! Great transformation with very little money spent, but lots of work involved. I went with a color I havent used any of my kitchen redo yet and Im so happy with it It is a blue/green/ gray color, I thought it fits our colorful boathouse makeover. After painting all the cabinets, we changed out our dated faucet for a gooseneck style black faucet and my hubby installed the stick on backsplash which I find and fell in love on Amazon, then I spray painted the existing knobs to black. The whole kitchen makeover costs are: $300 including absolutely everything!! Ok my friends! This armoire have a STORY!!As you might know this piece is 8 feet tall, huge and heavy like nothing else I have ever painted! We was so happy when we find it because we wanted some great piece in our cottage to hold pretty much anything and everything. I was excited to work on it for days or more likely weeks between jobs, literally poured my heart into it.... and finally finished! Night before we planning to transport to the final destination we put it back to...gether assembled all the pieces and we was happy as pie the way turned out. I took a last look at it then pushed the garage door switch to close it for the night.... and I was watching it in slow motion in total horror my armoire slowly started facing down until in a huge noise hit the floor face down!!! I was screaming without noise, frozen!!! I think it was one of the most horrible moment in my life:( Everybody running out of the house and we was so afraid to even lifting it back up because I didnt wanted to see the damage it has done.... IT WAS NOTHING HAPPENED TO IT!!! And that was one of the most happiest moments in my life Next day 100 step done with her to the boathouse.
