Ahhh... So peaceful! I am so glad to finally have some real space for my practice right at home... The kind of space that doesn't require me to move furniture around before I can roll out my yoga mat! Maybe it will even become a cozy little home studio where I can teach individuals and couples in the near future! But for the time being, it's just for me, and all the blankets . . . #yoga #yogaathome #homestudio #homepractice #myyogapractice #restorative #cozy #downtownptbo

Cheers to the old and the new! . This week, I moved to a new apartment in downtown Peterborough. Saying goodbye to my sweet tiny home and hello to a bigger space felt a little overwhelming at first. My most precious items were last to get packed and a little hard to see in boxes again. But there was a lot of time to reflect on the changes I've been through over the past two years. And this new home comes with new opportunities. I'm ready for it. A front porch (complete with r...ocking chairs) and ample space for yoga are both really exciting! . Stay tuned for more photos and info on private yoga sessions in my new home as my space evolves and comes together! . . . #home #gratitude #change #downtownptbo See more
This weekend was a bit of a dream. An escape to a place where it feels like the woods are starting to know my name. A reminder that even through masks, hand sanitizer, and social distancing, deep and beautiful connections can emerge. That when we slow down enough to honestly listen to our own needs and desires, as well as those of the people who surround us, everyone is better off for it. And that when we let ourselves be guided by sincerety, curiosity, and understanding, there is no telling what we might learn. . . . #nature #lovenature #getoutside #slowdown #natureconnection #moveslowseemore #foresttherapy #forestbathing #yogaoutdoors
When we want to connect to nature, it can be helpful to understand the historical context of the spaces we occupy. Here's some quick, nicely presented, and highly valuable information! I'm still learning about colonialism and all the ways it continues to impact us today, but I'm happy to support the learning process as best as I can. Have questions? Feel free to post them in the comments below, or reach me directly.
Hi everyone! I'm excited to be guiding a forest bathing / forest therapy walk on Monday, October 26 as part of a Kawartha Land Trust fundraiser to support the Christie Bentham Wetland Project! There will be a variety of guided events happening throughout the week, and it will be a great chance to get outside, connect with this beautiful place, and maybe learn something too! Note that due to covid restrictions, group sizes are limited and registration is required.... You can find out more about the project here: https://kawarthalandtrust.org/christiebenthamwetland/ And register for a walk here: https://kawarthalandtrust.org/?post_type=event&p=4015 Donations will be gratefully accepted by the KLT towards helping preserve this land for future generations.
Curious about the roots of forest therapy? This article is a wonderful resource!

This river has given me so much this summer. Such a vital relationship. I cherish it like a close friend. Just to sit near the shore and here the water move is soothing to my soul. To wade in or jump off a dock is next level goodness, especially given the heat and drought we've been experiencing here this year. . Thank you Odenaabe for everything you give us! . .... . #nature #lovenature #getoutside #slowdown #natureconnection #moveslowseemore #odenaabe #otonabee #nogojiwanong #ptbo See more

Roses everywhere! . This is one plant I think I will keep connecting with over and over again. She is slow to grow and keeps strangers at arms length - be careful of those thorns! But slowly, I befriend her. . I used to think of roses as an overpriced status symbol - those long stemmed roses in the store never quite impressed me. But roses are so much more than that!... . I'm grateful to have roses of many colours growing in my backyard. Every time I see them, they remind me of the rose gardens I saw in Croatia years ago, where my family is from. Especially along the coast and on the islands of the Adriatic Sea. Such abundance and beauty! . Wow, I am so grateful to live in such a beautiful place where I have access to forests and clean water. . This passing Canada Day filled me with conflict. I love this place so much, and am simultaneously aware that the lands and waters I so appreciate and enjoy are stolen lands and waters. I'm aware that this day is, at its heart, a celebration of colonialism. I'm aware that even while my family is fairly new to Canada, myself being a 1st generation Canadian on my father's si...de, we benefit from the European colonial history of this country and the whiteness of our skin. I'm aware of the genocide of indigenous peoples and the enslavement and abuses against BIPOC that are a part of our history and our present. . I'm curious about what we can do to make our future a brighter one, for all Canadians. . Canada is a beautiful, plentiful, rich place and I feel very lucky to live here.
