It's been a slice celebrating National Pizza Day today! We also want to remind you that pizza boxes are recyclable! In Canada, our pizza boxes are predominately made from recycled corrugated board. All empty and clean pizza boxes placed in the recycling bin are collected, sent for processing, baled, and sold to be made into a new pizza box, or another type of paper-based packaging. The team worked over the weekend to install a custom duct system for our Cobra flatbed die cutter, designed to capture and transfer corrugated scrap to our baler room. The scrap is then sent to a recycling facility and continues as part of a sustainable cycle. #sustainablepractices #packagingsolutions

Meet the people behind the box: Scott Young. Scott has been with Royal Containers for 3 years but worked at Rexdale Corrugated Containers for 10 years prior to its acquisition in 2017. Scott has held multiple positions in customer service and inside sales and says his favourite part about working at Royal is the people! When Scott is not at work, he loves to travel (and misses it), or going boating. Just like Royal Containers, Scott grew up in a family-owned business. We want to take a moment to recognize the great effort that both Jim Crosby and Mohamed Ali have put into fixing some issues at our BOBST 66 DRO and installing a new anilox roll for section 2. Working with the BOBST technician, Jim and Mohamed showed a high level of focus and commitment to getting this delicate task done. The result is a nice even coverage and great fine details.
