I'm launching a new weekly radio program on 91X.FM (Loyalist Community Radio) on Sat. Feb. 6 at 10am called "Swing, Jump & Jive" - from Club Commodore Live. ht...tps://91x.fm/ (Listen Live link) It's my attempt to re-create old-time radio broadcasts from Club Commodore - the music, the dancers, the announcer, audience reaction, all of it. Only in my "exquisitely renovated" Club, there are two revolving stages, a beautifully refurbished oak dance floor, and nothing but up-tempo big band swing dance music played by the world's best bands who "drop by" the Club on their way to and from engagements in the big cities. And maybe even the Oak Lake Casino! And the bands are not just from the 40s - in my hallucinatory and feverish imagination, they range all the way from Jimmie Lunceford and Martin Loomer's Orange Devils to Colin James' LIttle Big Band, and everything in between, and more. Not from the same era? No problem. The shows will also be available on demand later on Sound Cloud via the radio station's program schedule page..

We are sold out for the live performance in the Old Church Theatre BUT you will be able to buy a ticket to watch the show later in your home. With limited seating due to COVID-19 restrictions along with the large number of people who would prefer to stay home, we have decided to film this year's performance so you won't miss out! The ticket is $5 and when the recording is packaged you will be sent an access code to watch online at your convenience. You will be able to watch from your own home, as many times as you like until after Christmas Day.

We’ve been busy at the Old Church Theatre getting ready to gather again indoors. For many years, we’ve known how fortunate we are to have met so many great supporters of the arts and to own a beautiful, historical, rural church building. This year COVID-19 created a great hardship for everyone and notably for the arts community. After being shut down in March then able to open outdoors in June we again experienced how fortunate we are to have our entire lot as a patio spac...e for many great performances and safe gatherings in the fresh country air throughout the summer. Now, moving indoors, we continue to see how fortunate we are to be able to open our church windows for that fresh country air on a daily basis. Along with our air filtration system we have been advised to add a large-room humidifier. Dry air is an environment where viruses thrive and humidifiers could lower Covid-19 infection risks. We continue to provide hand sanitizer and follow regulations regarding social distancing, masks and lexan dividers. Your safety, our safety and remaining vigilant is paramount to us. Let’s get together again, at a distance, and support the arts!

Sean Scally: "In this time leading up to Remembrance day .. It is apparent we will not be able to honour the sacrifices of the countless people who have answered the call, served and died... in the regular manner we are accustomed to ... But we will adapt and remember in every other way that is safe and possible .... with the help of Roger Litwiller and the City Of Quinte West and many others I present you this film as my form of remembrance ....
