This handsome boy Dex was the first canine client to enjoy our new PEMF machine! Dex really enjoyed our new service and fell right asleep in his mom’s hand. PEMF does wonders on our canine family members as it helps to decrease pain and inflammation as well as promote and speed up tissue repair. It is also great to use as a preventative measure for our furry friends!
With our new service addition, comes along an official new member of SA Equine Massage and Therapies... Most of you know her as my "assistant," but she is taking on a much larger role! Niki will be our primary human and canine PEMF practitioner and secondary equine PEMF practitioner. With a Master's Degree in Kinesiology, she has all the qualifications to make our human and canine friends feel at the their absolute best. Currently operating on the road, Niki will travel to you to perform the sessions. Whether you (or your pet!) suffer from arthritis, back/shoulder pain or any other kind of ailments, PEMF can help with pretty much anything! We are super excited to be starting this new adventure!!!

Unless you’ve already done so, please make sure you have confirmed whether or not you’re bringing a horse by tomorrow: MONDAY SEPTEMBER 7! Although not mandatory- we do encourage and recommend that participants bring their own horse to get the most out of this clinic. As no two horses’ needs are exactly the same Reminder that to those bringing a horse there is a fee of $20 for stall rental! ... To those interested, we have 1 spot left! PM us if you’re interested. Can’t wait to see everyone! And hope everyone is having a great long weekend!

Hello clinic attendees!! Our packages have been sent out. So check your Facebook messages . We are only 3 WEEKS away from our clinic! That being said, we do have only a COUPLE spots left, so if you’re looking for something to do September 12-13, shoot us a PM. 50% deposits are required to hold your spot (the rest is due the first day of the clinic). We’re going to be covering massage techniques, stretches and an introduction to kinesiology taping (woohooo!!). Super excited!!!
Checkout a recent kinesiology tape job we did! The objective of this taping was to provide additional support for the tendons/ ligaments in the leg (first photo) and support the hock and the surrounding muscles implicated when the hock isn’t completely flexing during movement (commonly seen as the horse starts to develop arthritis). The beauty of Equi-Tape is that it increases circulation, provides support and DOES NOT inhibit their range of motion! This, along with a lot more will be covered in more detail in our introductory to massage clinic taking place September 12-13th! If this is something that interests you, shoot us a pm. We only have a few spots left!

LONG POST ALERT! Hey everybody! So I’ve picked a tentative weekend for the Introduction to Equine Massage clinic: JUNE 13th and 14th 2020 Location: High Point Farm in Bonfield, ON... There are two options for this clinic: Saturday only or Saturday & Sunday. SATURDAY - basic equine muscle anatomy: a package will be given to clients prior to the clinic to give everyone an opportunity to familiarize themselves with equine anatomy and muscles. This will allow us to spend more time working on the horses, as I want everyone to get the most out of this clinic - Safety: this tends to be a dry topic, but it is very important in equine massage. This includes the health check, when to proceed with massage and when not to, safety around horses and more. - Introduction to Massage: this includes some theory behind massage, it’s purpose and what it can do for your equine partner, techniques etc - practical: we will be switching back and forth between theory and practice on the horses. This is what the majority of the clinic will be focused on. Students will learn how to apply the massage techniques and learn how to detect releases. - basic stretches and how to properly execute them! SUNDAY - in order to participate on Sunday, students must have done the Saturday clinic first. - this day will focus on massage for the PERFORMANCE HORSE. - during this day we will explore more advanced massage techniques: -some aspects of saddle fit (for both English and western saddles), - more advanced theory topics, such as case studies, - massage for colic relief (yes you read that correctly!) - how massage can reduce swelling - more advanced stretches, tailored for the performance horse. - introduction to KINESIOLOGY TAPING (a new service I am offering in the summer months- when the tape actually sticks!) this aspect will cover some common, basic kinesiology tapings that can improve circulation, prevent and decrease soreness and support chiropractor adjustments THE FEES $150 for Saturday only $225 for BOTH DAYS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Please pm me for more information or to register for the clinic. 50% non refundable deposit is required to hold your spot, along with getting the pre clinic package. Lastly, there is an option for people to bring their own horse to clinic, although it is not mandatory. There are a limited amount of stalls available to rent. Proof of vaccinations and insurance is required. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Super excited to be hosting this clinic!
Hey Everybody! I hope everyone had a great holiday season. I have been toying with the idea of possibly running an introductory to equine massage clinic this spring/summer depending on interest. It could be either a 1-3 day clinic depending on interest and amount of material being covered. Putting feelers out if there would be any interest in doing this for the Northern Ontario horse owners? Please send me a pm or comment below if this something that would interest you!
Such a great read! Another reason why we strongly encourage massage therapy, as sore muscles left untreated can be the start of many many other issues.
