Dear Ontario Parents, It has been a trying year for all Ontarians. Yet, through the greatest challenges we faced, our province most especially inspired by our students, parents and education staff came together. Unified in our effort to stop the spread and save lives. Thank you for your dedication. We believe so strongly that schools are essential to the well-being, mental health and development of a child, and therefore, must be safeguarded at all costs to ensure they ca...Continue reading

Let's Connect: Tell Us How You Are Doing Waterloo Region District School Board Dear Families and Students, As we begin Quadmester 2 in our secondary schools and elementary schools prepare progress reports, we are taking this opportunity to hear from you.... This year, we will be connecting with you at different points during the school year. The purpose of these check-ins is to understand how you and your child feel about your learning experience and if the supports we have in place are meeting your needs, whether in-person or distance. Your responses will help us determine how to continue to improve the ways we provide support and develop our plans for the rest of the school year. Participating is voluntary, and all responses are anonymous. We will not collect any personal information. There are two surveys: The Family Survey: for parents and guardians of students in Kindergarten to Grade 12 The Student Survey: for students in Grade 4 to 12. https://waterlooregional.ca1.qualtrics.com//SV_0H61ZO7DLWj Students in Kindergarten to Grade 3 are invited to complete the Family survey with their parent/guardian. https://waterlooregional.ca1.qualtrics.com//SV_eLsTgPcifJN The survey is available until the end of the day on November 20, 2020.

Reminder - Spirit Day Tomorrow This is a reminder of our Fall Festival Spirit Day tomorrow, Friday, October 30th. Student's are invited to wear orange and black or our school colours, yellow and blue. We are committed to the promise we have made to families to provide a safe learning environment for all students. Upholding this promise means that families and students are encouraged to not send their children with non-essential learning materials. As such, we are asking that children are not sent to school with costumes or shared food items

October 26th, 2020 Today was the final step in transitioning more than 3000 new students to Distance Learning. This was a huge undertaking and we would like to thank all of the staff who helped to make this reorganization as smooth as possible. We also want to thank all of the parents and students for their patience as we worked through this process. This transition has impacted many students and staff, not just those who requested changes.... We recognize that this means that there are changes to learning environments and established routines for many. We feel confident that everyone will settle in quickly to these changes and that your child will continue to receive quality instruction from our caring educators, no matter what mode of learning you have chosen for them. Please keep in mind that the next opportunity for changes in cohorts and changes to modes of learning will not occur until February. Watch for more information on the process for making your request in January.
