I am awake, I am alive, and this morning I am smiling as I think to myself, "Nope, not about me". I think we have all done it a time or two or ten. A person leaves a convo early or doesn't call when they said (or you thought) they would. We take it personal. Self esteem can plummet. Anger can spike. Relationships can end. But then you talk and you ask and you find out something you had forgetten - that others have a life. That sometimes (if not, most of the time) it had ...nothing to do with you. And if you are really lucky, at this point you get to laugh and continue on enjoying this friendship, while you giggle silently at the idea that it was ever about you. The lower the self esteem, the more often we think others are talking about us, ignoring us, avoiding us, or (gawd forbid) don't like us. With confidence comes freedom from those thoughts. And for our friends, well, they get the freedom to have a life, even if it means sometimes they forget to call. So this is me, wiser, shaking my head at my silliness, happy that those I care for DO have a life. Food for thought my friend. Just remember, it's probably not about you. I love you! I am awake, I am alive, and this morning I am excited as today's agenda is a beautiful blending of what was with what will be and I am thinking that is a great way to live every day! This morning - what will be as I shoot yet another video, diligently working on the next seminar to be available by email or USB. I love this new medium, one that allows participants to learn at their own pace with the freedom to watch and rewatch as often as they need. That fits my teachings a...nd makes me smile! And then this afternoon, a live event - small, local, with all precautions taken to ensure these front line workers are safe ... as they laugh. And this group deserves deep, almost-painful belly laughs when you consider the work they do and have done to keep their communities functioning and safe. So this is me ... bringing forth what I want to keep while morphing into what I want to be. Perfect. And you my friend, are you wise enough to morph with the seasons as well or are you desperately clinging to what was, imagining that you haven't changed so your life shouldn't either? You have changed my friend. You are wiser, older, more experienced. You have seen more things and done more things than ever before. Celebrate that for you are now the person a younger young wondered about and that is worth smiling over. Enjoy this day my friend! I love you! Saturday night I shared three of my poems at this event. Here is the video for you to enjoy. I was the 2nd speaker (but the first is a powerhouse, so check her out too!).

Imagine a neighborhood of people, white people, from Toronto or Ottawa or Vancouver treated the same way. It wouldn't happen and it can't keep happening because these people are indigenous or remote. It can't, not if Canada wants to keep claiming its a great place to live. https://www-cbc-ca.cdn.ampproject.org//www.c/amp/1.5777446
