We here at Sarnia Fire Rescue always like helping out for a good cause! Today Station 2 firefighters bagged up lunches to help out Bare Necessities Little Lunches who provide a great service to those in need.
We love our amazing community partners! Canadian Red Cross is helping Sarnia Fire Rescue get the fire safety message out to the community. They will distribute these bags through their Health and Wellness programs including transportation, Meals on Wheels and Homeward Bound. #community
Did you know? Every Monday the Emergency Sirens are tested at 12:30pm. There are 14 sirens located between Sarnia, Aamjiwnaang & Corunna. ... If you hear these sirens, outside of the regular Monday 12:30pm testing time, we require you to ACT! Go indoors and tune to your local radio and news outlets for further information. It's Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week. We wanted to again say a big Thank you to Hawkins-Gignac Foundation for CO Education for their generous donation of CO alarms.
Covid-19 Update for November 16
For #FirePreventionWeek Sarnia Fire Rescue Services wanted to demonstrate why you should NEVER throw water on a grease fire! Always look while you cook but if your cooking oil ever catches on fire safely put on a tight fitting lid or cookie sheet, turn off the heat and let it completely cool.

Today outgoing Fire Chief Brian Arnold transferred his 5 stripes to Sarnia Fire Rescue Services newest Fire Chief Bryan VanGaver. Chief Arnold will now be serving as Fire Chief of Cambridge. Congratulations to you both!

We want to say a huge thank you to Firehouse Subs who presented Sarnia Fire Rescue Services a cheque for over $12,000 from their Public Safety Foundation of Canada. This generous donation is being used to purchase powered air purifying respirators to help protect our fire investigators.

Here Sarnia Firefighter Alderman demonstrates one way to properly extinguish a grease fire. Put a proper fitting lid or large cookie sheet over it and turn off the heat. Wait until it fully cools before moving it. An easy way to remember this is Put a lid on it! #firepreventionweek
