GORDO UPDATE! Happy Gotcha Day, Gordo!

The dogs featured in this album have recently arrived in to Save Me Rescue’s care and are NOT accepting applications. Once they have been assessed and are ready for adoption, they will be moved to the Available Dogs album. Most of these photos have been taken at their respective shelters and you can see how scared and confused they are. They now know true love with their foster homes. Stay tuned for updates on these beautiful dogs! Please note in addition to not accepting applications for these dogs, we do not accept general applications. We only accept applications once a dog has been placed in the Available Dogs album and noted as available for adoption or in the In Rehabilitation album and noted as accepting applications.

If so, you can participate in Save Me Rescue’s sponsorship program! The sponsorship fee is $50 and the funds go towards the vetting and care of that individual dog. In return you will receive a tax receipt as well as your name (or the name of the individual you would like to sponsor on behalf of) mentioned within the dogs bio, you will also receive an update from the foster home once the dogs safely arrives into our care. But most importantly you get the satisfaction of knowing you are the reason that particular dog has safely made its way into our care. Olivia - IN REHAB - Not Accepting Applications Westie - Female - 14 lbs - 15 yrs (approx.) - Vision Impaired Location: Cambridge, ON... Olivia is sponsored by Roz to wish Merry Christmas to Sherri, Courtney, Alissa, and Amanda. It is an honour to be on the Save Me board of directors with you all! Meet Olivia! She is a sweet senior West Highland Terrier who arrived in our care in just before Christmas. She is adjusting really well to her foster home and gets along well with her foster dog and cat siblings. At 15 years old, her hearing and vision is not quite what is used to be. She is deaf but does have some vision and gets around her new foster home easily. She even chased the cat! Olivia needs some TLC which she will receive an abundance of by her foster mom. Olivia has a number of issues that are commensurate with her age. In addition to being deaf and limited vision, she has some arthritis in her back end. It was discovered while completing an x-ray she has a bullet near her spine. It is not causing any problems but maybe a reason for some of the stiffness in her backend. Olivia's main health issue is that her mouth is very unhealthy and we are glad to see that her blood works shows she is health enough to have a general anaesthetic. We are going to try try and get a bit of weight on her before she has her dental. Luckily she has a good appetite. **Adoptions within the province of Ontario only

BILL UPDATE! Yesterday we received a nice update from Bill’s family on his gotcha day. Hearing from families that have adopted from us brightens our day. Thank you to Bill’s family for sharing an update with us and giving him such a loving home. Hi there! ... I just wanted to reach out and give you an update on Bill! One year ago today Bill came into our lives! Bill is an old soul and is unlike any other dog that we have met! He may be considered a senior, and loves to sleep, but he has a spunk to him that makes us laugh on a daily basis! He may only have 2 teeth now and his tongue hangs out frequently, but he absolutely loves life!! He loves basking in the sun, hanging out with his brother Duke, chasing laser pointers and bananas!! Bill has taught us that you can teach an old dog new tricks, the importance of second chances and unconditional love. He truly has been a light in our lives and we are so thankful to Save Me Rescue for allowing us to adopt this gem!! He is one Silly Billy!! See more
