Did you know the STC-428-P scientific CMOS camera features StackPro, a revolutionary feature that performs image stacking inside the camera? It automatically subdivides your exposure into up to 16 individual sub-exposures, and stacks them inside the camera prior to download. Check out what else this revolutionary camera can do for you. https://bit.ly/31U2mqZ

The Pleiades Close Up This familiar winter star cluster (summer for the southern hemisphere) is the Pleiades, also known as Subaru, and the Seven Sisters. It ...is a group of over 1,000 stars born within the last 100 million years, perhaps from a structure not unlike the present-day Orion Nebula. The wisps of textured dust and gas that now surround the brighter stars are currently not thought to be related to leftovers from the stars' formation, but rather simply clouds that the cluster is now passing through. We offer adaptive optics unit for Aluma and STT cameras. The AO-8A requires an off-axis guide camera behind the device. For Aluma cameras this requires either a StarChaser SC-2 or a Remote Guide Head used with a custom Off-Axis Guider. All STF cameras are supported via the StarChaser SC-2 (except STF-402 due to different mounting interface) Learn more about adaptive optics unit for Aluma and STT cameras here: https://bit.ly/3ehRojJ #ScientificImaging #Imaging #CameraHardware #Aluma #CameraAccessories #Deals #astronomy #AstroPhotography #ImagingHardware #STT #cameras

#DYK that in 1949 the Hale Telescope on Mount Palomar was first opened. At the time it was the largest in the worldand the most productive. But for decades afterwards, telescopes stopped getting bigger. Why? Economics and technology are one answer, but perhaps the real answer is the invention of the CCD camera. Read our latest article "How to Choose an Astronomical Imaging Camera." to learn more about why the choice of camera is key to getting the most bang for your buck in astronomical imaging. https://bit.ly/2Ou8jUC #Imaging #CameraHardware #astronomy #AstroPhotography #ImagingHardware #astronomical #CCD #cameras #resolution #Telescope #skywatching #skywatcher #Space #technology

Here's an image I took last night with the new SBIG STC-7 scientific CMOS camera. This time the target was the North American nebula (NGC7000) in luminance (i....e. unfiltered). This images were acquired in my suburban backyard observatory, and guided with an SBIG StarChaser SC-2 guide camera. The telescope was a Takahashi FSQ-106 wide field refractor on an AP1600 mount. Total of 192 minutes of Luminance in 2 minute exposures. Very simple processing - calibrated with flats and darks, stacked, and some curves applied.
