Our senior vice-president, Peter Labelle, has a birthday coming up in a few weeks. Please help him celebrate by contributing to this latest fundraising effort.
A reminder that our "Happy Fall" Paint Night fundraiser will take place next week. We've only got twenty spots available due to COVID protocols, and registrations are starting to pile up, so be sure to sign up now before there's no room left. All the details are in the event page linked here. www.facebook.com/events/2707766856137752
The Seaway Valley Theatre Company is looking to renew its visual branding. As such, the decision has been made to adopt a new company logo, and we'd like you to help us come up with one. Right now we're just looking for ideas. The image must be simple, instantly recognizable, scalable, and flexible. (Suitable for print, online, merchandise, etc.) However, that doesn't mean you have to be an artist to help us create a new one. Any and all input is most welcome in this search, and we certainly hope you'll contribute. If you'd like to, please send your artwork (preferably as either JPEG or PNG files) to our company president, Lise Richer, at [email protected] by Thursday, October 15th.

Here's a shot of our latest adventure in renovation at the SVTC Playhouse. Soon our event room will have a shiny new floor, but we had to rip out the old one first. What a job it was, but we did it! All hail the power of teamwork! Many thanks indeed to everyone who came out on Saturday morning to help.
ICYMI, last Tuesaday was the National Day of Visibility for the Live Event Community. The SVTC Playhouse was lit up in red in solidarity with other performance venues across the country, including the Aultsville Theatre and the Upper Canada Playhouse. Here's our home in all its glory. #LightUpLive
Looking for a musical theatre fix this weekend? "The Shows Must Go On!" is back with its latest offering. From now until 1:00 PM tomorrow afternoon, you can stream the 30th anniversary UK touring production of "Fame: The Musical" on YouTube. Don't miss it! https://youtu.be/RYEEZ04lbDg
Here's an interview with our company president, Lise Richer. We're truly grateful for our kind, generous, energetic, and immensely talented volunteer base. We couldn't run the SVTC without them.
Friends, here’s an easy way to show your support for Cornwall’s performing arts community during these precarious times. Light Up Live/Éclairons les scènes is a grassroots initiative led by creators, technicians, managers, and all manner of supporters of the arts across the country to raise awareness of their contributions to the Canadian economy. As such, September 22nd has been designated the National Day of Visibility for the Live Event Community. To mark the occasion, per...formance venues nationwide will be lit up in red this evening for one hour after sundown to promote our industry which is still dark. The new SVTC Playhouse will be taking part in this tonight starting at around 7:15 PM. If you happen to be driving by the neighbourhood this evening, please honk in solidarity with us and all other performing artists. For more information, please visit https://lightuplive.ca. #LightUpLive #EclaironsLesScenes
Okay, folks, who’s up for some dirty work? This Saturday, September 26th, we’ll be getting the event room at our new building ready for the installation of new flooring. We need eight to ten people to help move things out, tear up the old carpeting, sweep, and clean. The fun begins at 9:30 AM at 30 Sixth Street East, so if you want to lend a hand, please send a private message here on our Facebook page and we’ll put you in touch with the powers that be. COVID-19 protocols will be in place, so please remember to wear a mask and physically distance.
A reminder that tomorrow, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings, we’ll be hosting auditions for our latest project, The Bright Side Variety Show. Masking and physical distancing protocols will be in place. What are we looking for? HOSTS: A jovial duo like Rowan and Martin, Sonny and Cher, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, etc. to keep up a lively pace.... PERFORMERS: Actors, singers/musicians, comedians, magicians, jugglers, (no fire, please) and more. One to five performers aged 7 and up and within the same COVID-19 bubble to perform comedy skits. (Think of the Carol Burnett show from the seventies.) Astound us with your talents. COVID-19 PROTOCOLS: Masking/physical distancing protocols will be enforced and all auditions will be by appointment only at our new location, 30 Sixth Street East. (The former Navy Veterans Association building across the street from Giant Tiger.) To set up yours and/or if you've any questions, please message [email protected]. www.facebook.com/events/320422505864101 www.svtc.ca/the-bright-side-variety-show #SVTCBrightSideVariety
