A few months ago, I asked which knife would be the best for cutting rope around a prop shaft..... most recommended were a serrated bread knife, and an olfa knife. Finished the job and brought some rope back to test.... the results are: https://youtu.be/Np4c5p8B5IM... Winner: cheapo bread knife. :)

That was 'quite a' adventure. At Quyta Lake. (The pun sounds better spoken out) Found and recovered a new skidoo hope it dries out well and runs soon. PSA: Be careful out there folks, it is still very early in the season, and moving water anywhere will erode or prevent ice forming!!!!

The Shit I Found Diving in YK squad became Shit I Found Diving in ULUKHAKTOK for a very brief moment today. It was cold and snowing but as you can see @nurseyclaire along with the whole team had a blast checking off our first Arctic Ocean dive. In keeping with typical shit I found style we found a fishing lure (I know SHOCKING!), a mussel shell and some beach glass. On the same clean up dive that we found the vase on, @nurseyclaire found a kid’s shoe that had plants growing out of it. She came out of the water and said The shoe is like a mini ecosystem and put it on shore. Fifteen minutes later when we were taking photos of our finds we saw two eyes starring back and a little burbot fish wanting to be free from the shoe and get back in the water (see the second photo). We have been running into a lot of boaters who do not know what this flag means. It is a notice that a diver is under the water..... some times we can hear the propellers of your boats go over us very close to the dive flags. The Tansport Canada Safe Boating Guide (link below) recommends:... ".... give divers plenty of room by keeping your boat at least 100 m (328’) from the flag. If you cannot stay that far away because of the size of the waterway, slow down as much as possible, move ahead with caution, and keep clear of the vessel and diving site." Do you know where there other debris or nets can be found in Great Slave Lake??? Ever foul your fishing gear on underwater ropes? When we went looking for a Ghost Net in the east arm this past weekend: we tried to look where somebody reported a net (no luck), searched another location with sonar where one was suspected (had a hit) and then found a net completely by accident at a third location. This makes me suspect there may be many more out there. I'd like to organize volun...teers to collect more of these out of the waters. If you have a location let us know and we'll try to get there to check it out and recover. If you have a GPS site or a identifiable location, please send in the info! Matt from @oldtownglassworks had something cutting his houseboat mooring lines. Turns out it was an old i-beam the ropes were rubving against. He made this Anchor Yanker to pull it out.
