We’ve been working on this combination for a while now. The Letter Writing and receiving a letter is a wonderfully emotional and tactile experience. It’s a connection that starts simply with a piece of paper and a pen. The ink touches the page as the darling writer crafts sweet words that will travel on a journey, a journey into the hands of the delighted recipient. The letter becomes a heartfelt message that has been sealed and delivered to their door, a little gift that says ‘I’m thinking about you’. Once opened, they can hold it in their hands and feel the paper, read the words and tuck it away to save it for another read and a special memory relived on another day.

We all know mugs have superpowers. We’ve been on the quest to find a snuggly solution to the traditional duvet and duvet cover. We have tried many different styles over the years and we always end up with the duvet bunched up toward one side, keeping one sweetie warm while the other sweetie shivers under a duvet cover without duvet. We’re pretty sure you know what we’re talking about. So, we made this coverlet out of a classic ticking stripe fabric with a layer of fill sewn into it. We LOVE it, the fill sta...ys in place and keeps both of us warm and cozy at night. It’s part of The Lake House Collection and it's made for us in Ontario and comes with matching shams. Our first olde Muskoka house had a giant oak tree and we named it Elizabeth, after my maternal grandmother. That tree was one of the mightiest of oaks and still is today. It’s because of her that we fell in love with acorns. That perfect smooth, deep brown bottom capped with that pinecone textured hat. We’d pause and examine them, each a bit different but each one of these little darlings holds within them the potential to become a mighty oak. These ornaments remind us of that, so we’ve planned out our tree around them, a reminder of our olde home and the olde oak, a reminder of potential. This morning the Lake beckoned me down. The reflection of the sunrise was emerging with a powerful yet serene intensity as the Lake whispered in my ear, ‘I know it’s a bit chillier now and we don’t see each other as much but I still have so much to share and so much to show.’ I looked out into the bay towards the sun and whispered back ‘thank you for the reminder my friend, I’ll see you again soon.’
