St. Leonard's Community Support, Prevention and Residential Services actively promotes and provides Restorative Justice programming through our Belleville & District Youth Justice Committee. During Restorative Justice week, we would like to share this wonderful story confirming the power and healing potential of Restorative Justice:

St. Leonard's Community Support, Prevention and Residential Services 14.10.2020

NOVEMBER 15-22 IS RESTORATIVE JUSTICE WEEK Restorative Justice is a philosophy and an approach that views crime and conflict as harm done to people and relationships. It is a non-adversarial, non-retributive approach to justice that emphasizes healing in victims, accountability of offenders, and the involvement of citizens in creating healthier, safer communities. The goal is to reach meaningful, satisfying, and fair outcomes through inclusion, open communication, and truth. ...During this week, SLCSPRS acknowledges the dedication and commitment of our Belleville & District Youth Justice Committee volunteers who regularly employ Restorative Justice practices and principles when meeting with youth and those affected by the actions of the young person. Additional information on the Restorative Justice approach of the Belleville & District Youth Justice Committee is available at: https://stleonardscsprs.ca/program/diversion/
