We love seeing these exciting headlines for our Small Planet! Greenpeace Australia spokesperson Nelli Stevenson said that "reaching 100 per cent renewable electricity was an ‘epic milestone’ for the state". Their goal is to reach 200% of their energy production needs by 2040, and they're set to reach it!

Just another beautiful day at the office! One of the best things about this work, is meeting some very cool people and doing some very innovative installations, in some of the most remote and beautiful places on our small planet. Have a great day everyone!

Small Planet Energy is excited to be organizing the 1st annual Small Planet Clean-up Contest to celebrate Earth Day. There will be $300.00 in cash prizes and a cleaner Campbell River by the end of our contest on April 30th. Individuals and families will do their own clean-ups and entries will be made by taking before and after pictures of the good work everyone is doing to lighten the load on our Small Planet. Contest rules will include following all standard safety precautio...ns and Covid-19 suggestions set forth by the BC Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, From now until April 30th, we will be accepting entries of before and after photos of garbage clean up across our community. Each and every one of us can make a small difference in the right direction starting today! Dr. Bonnie Henry, the BC Provincial Health Officer, recommends that we get out in nature, while socially isolating, whenever possible, as an important part of maintaining our mental and physical well-being. Many of us are spending a lot of time in the forest and trails around Campbell River, and are finding that there is a lot of garbage where there shouldn't be. As April 22, 2020 marks the 50th annual celebration of Earth Day, which is a global movement that now includes 193 countries around the world, we're hoping this challenge will inspire people to use some of our physical distancing time to help clean up Campbell River, and this beautiful Small Planet we all care so much about! Small Planet Energy has $300 in cash prizes ($200 for 1st, $75 for 2nd and $25 for 3rd), for the 3 most impressive garbage clean ups, between now and April 30th at 6pm. The rules are simple: 1) While socially isolating, take before and after photos of garbage you find and clean it up (using all safety precautions). 2) Submit your photos on facebook to Small Planet Energy https://www.facebook.com/smallplanetenergy/ 3) Make sure to tag us and use the hashtag #smallplanetcleanup Thank you to our friends Ashleigh Clark and Benajmin Coyle for volunteering to be our fellow judges. On your marks. Get set. Go!!!!! Photo 1: Tara Jordan with Small Planet Energy Inc., discovered garbage that had been dumped near Small Planet headquarters and Nunns Creek. Photo 2 & 3: A few hours later, Tara and Jarek with Small Planet, collected the garbage, and were inspired to initiate a challenge to have others do the same.

Campbell River's iconic Tyee Plaza clock tower has been resurrected at Econo Ezy Box Storage and is being brought in the 2020's with the help of Small Planet Energy Inc. 3 Solar panels were installed at the top of the clock tower to power this project, and plans for installing an electrical charging station for charging electrical vehicles are in place. If you are in the Campbelton area, check out the time, temperature, decor art, signage and solar power project, all in one. https://www.campbellrivermirror.com//campbell-rivers-tye/

One of the best parts of Small Planet Energy is exploring beautiful and relatively unknown parts of the world, like this recent off-grid job we did on Lasqueti Island. Cruising on and off of Lasqueti on the passenger only ferry and developing friendships with some very cool islanders are just some of the greatest parts of this work. The 7.2kw array we installed, keeps the Lithium Ion batteries charged up and ready to go, and the dual-inverter system delivers ample power for this multi-building property.

We are off to Cortez Island this morning to work on a solar installation at this beautiful off-grid location. We will be upgrading an aging system with new batteries and solar panels to meet all of their energy needs. We are looking forward to helping another off-grid customer to experience energy independence.
