We think it's time you got to know our incredible staff at the Special Olympics Manitoba provincial office. Every other weekend we're going to introduce you to these hard-working and dedicated individuals! For today's #StaffSaturday, meet Erin. She's our Competition Coordinator, so chances are if you've attended a competition in the province you've probably met her!... She's also a swim coach in Winnipeg with the Stingrays and the Dolphins. Three facts to know about her: - She absolutely loves the outdoors, having grown up in Flin Flon. - She knows ASL (American Sign Language). - She is an avid traveler, and has been to many different countries, even living in Belgium as an exchange student.

Our #AthleteOfTheWeek is Dave Friesen! Dave is one of the most friendly and outgoing guys you'll ever meet, and is always willing to lend a helping hand to his fellow athletes. What he misses most about participating in Basketball and Floor Hockey is the chance to hang out with his teammates and the friendly back and forth chatter with the coaches.... To stay active throughout the pandemic, he was working out weight training twice a week with his personal trainer, alongside his good friend, athlete Elijah Wood. (2 meters apart that is!) "I am also keeping active three to four days a week with my job at @Sobeys," he told us. "I appreciate when people remind me that I am one of the front line heroes of the pandemic." Thank you for continuing to help provide this essential service, Dave. You're truly an inspiring athlete!
