Meet Lil Luc he was rescued Sunday and wasn’t feeling well so he was rushed to Pembina vet last night and tested positive for Parvo. Cathie transported Luc to Plessis Vet where Dr. Virdi and Dr. Bhandari took over Luc’s Parvo treatment. He’s not eating and hooked to an IV. Roseau First Nation Winterizing Mission complete a big thank you goes out to our team members Maureen, Russ, Sidney and Kat for all their hard work to organize and make this mission happen! Thank you to Roseau Chief and Council for granting us permission to go to Roseau and do our mission to keep their dogs warm. Thanks to Lloyd and Jo of Shadows Mission for making them and to Lily from the ARK Project for working along side us to donate the 10 doghouses. Thanks to Mark and Sue Zabudny for insulating all the dog houses and for donating the straw and trailer to transport it out there. Today we rescued Buddy he was hit by a car and rushed to Plessis Vet where Dr. Bhandari did X-rays and found out he has a badly broken leg and the damage is so bad Buddy has to have emergency surgery on Monday. He also tested positive for Lyme disease. Bear:Male/Mixed Breed/3yrs Our Bear is a wonderful, big amazing boy! He is very friendly and would love to find his forever home. He is a high energy dog that would benefit from companionship who can match his energy level. Bear loves going to day care, being active and having interaction with other dogs. He loves his walks and can be trusted in a off leash park. His recall is good but needs continued reinforcement. He has a great disposition and is very loving. He can be tr...usted alone in a house but he is tall so please make sure nothing is on the counter for him to get. He really is the most wonderful dog. He is house trained, knows basic commands and needs training on jumping on people(gets excited). He would do great with older children. Cassie:Female/Mixed Breed/2yrs Our beautiful Cassie was rescued and had a beautiful litter in rescue. They are all safe and ready to find all loving homes like any dog should. She’s house trained. Cassie is learning basic commands and living with house rules. She’s eager to please Cassie is in a foster home with other dogs and is great but would still need a proper meet with potential fur sibling. She can play a little rough so she is learning in this department. ... She respects the cats space but will sneak a sniff, curious! No exposure to children. About Cassie: Attentive, learning to trust, calm, loving, gentle, intelligent and shy. She likes to sleep with her people. Cassie will need an individual or family that will be patient with her once she moves to a new environment. Always remember she came in with no home or structure. Lily: Female/Mixed Breed/5M Sweet Lily is about 32lbs of love ready to find her forever home. She’s being trained in all areas and doing great. Still learning everyday! She knows sit and lay down. Lily is energetic, loves walks and needs training in this department with leash and learning to be a calm walker. ... She’s in a foster home with another dog and is doing great. Took a couple of days to feel comfortable. Proper introduction for all dogs that meet. She shares her toys and will play nice. No cat exposure. Would do best with older children that are experienced with dogs. She is kennel trained but would rather stay out! So durable toys and antlers are best when alone. About Lily...cuddly, energetic, will jump(still need work), confident, can be mouthy, sweet, loving and can be a digger if left alone! Idea home: a family or an individual that will continue positive training and to explore with her. In a home with another fur sibling or alone. Nova:Female/Mixed Breed/11M/55lbs This beautiful sweet girl is working on all areas of live. She came from a community where she just roamed around had no structure. She’s doing great and will need continues training. Will need a fully fenced in yard- 6ft or higher. She’s learning walks with the harness. She does well with large dog’s. No small dogs or cats! She’s been around older children. Nova is good with strangers coming to visit. She sleeps on her dog bed, floor or c...ouch. Nova is eager to please and is adjusting well to an indoor life. She likes to be your shadow. Loves belly rubs. Loves playing with her toys. She is not allowed to have bones around other dogs. Hand to mouth treats is a must until fully trained in this department. Ideal home/comment from foster: An understanding, experienced owner/family would be best for Nova. She loves company so another medium/large dog for companionship would be great. She is a cuddler and loves affection. She's still learning the rules and expectations of living in a house, so firm boundaries and patience. She's very smart, and a bit mischievous. She is attentive while we work on training basics, so we feel she'll love and excel at training. She's a beautiful, gentle soul. Cuddly and deserving of lots of petting with a family that will work with her and show her lots of love. The life she deserves. Porter:Male/Mixed Breed/4M Meet our sweet handsome boy Porter! Porter definitely had a very rough start to life but with an amazing team of vets and foster he is able to life an amazing life. He’s a ball of life! He’s house and kennelled trained. Knows basic commands. This guy is definitely a fighter for life Porter is good with other dogs-has two foster siblings . No exposure to cats. ... Children: Porter loves playing with my nieces and nephews. Sometimes he does not like being picked up and due to his skin/hair condition so older children is a must. Porter needs a very special family who will love him no matter how he turns out. He is so sweet and loving. He needs someone who will continue his training and who will love him unconditionally. Porter will definitely need proper outer wear to keep him comfortable. Porter may or may not have fur for the rest of his life on certain areas of his body. Ideal home: Porter would thrive in a home with older children. He would do well with or without another dog. He can be very submissive but will also sometimes try to be bossy. He can be so sweet, and cuddly and playful and is probably the clumsiest pup I have ever seen. He makes us laugh all the time.
