A wonderful day out on the water. We had the chance again to view the amazing spectacle of many, many humpbacks. Looking in any direction you would see the blow of one or two of these amazing animals. After spending an enjoyable time moving from group to group of humpbacks we found the always impressive Race Rocks and a huge number of seals and sea lions. To round off a great afternoon we got to spend time with a pair of mammal eating Orca as they hunted close in to the rocky shoreline.
Humpbacks abound! The many humpback whales in the strait are moving ever closer to Victoria as the feast upon the abundant bait fish. All photos taken by Captain Yves with a zoom lens and cropped.
Happy Humpback Halloween! Another amazing tour with many humpback whales. These waters have not seen humpbacks in these waters since pre whaling days 150 years ago! In these strange times its great to see something as positive as the return of these whales to their natural habitat. All Photos taken by Captain Yves with a zoom lens and cropped

Perfect day on the Ocean! Visibility was terrific and the seas were calm. Our guests visited the Race Rocks Ecological Reserve to view the resident mammals, then off to enjoy sightings of 2 Humpback Whales! All photos taken with zoom lens and heavily cropped by Captain Yves.

An enticing, sunny fall day was a treat for all when we set sail towards Race Rocks - a local hotspot for all kinds of wildlife - Humpback Whales, Californian and Stellar Sea Lions, as well as Harbour Seals. Today we got a special surprise; a rare sighting of the Leach's Storm Petrel! While common to the west coast, these birds generally stick to remote island locations to breed. Having the opportunity to snap a picture, let alone see one, in the Victoria is very exciting for wildlife enthusiasts. All photos taken with a zoom lens and heavily cropped by Captain Yves.
An intrepid crew and feisty guests were no match for the windy weather and waves. On our way west towards Race Rocks we were greeted with a sighting of a Humpback Whale - a truly magnificent marine giant. After spending time with this animal we received word of inbound Bigg's Killer Whales! Continuing west, skipping over the water, we encountered T-19b and T-19c. This gave our guests the unforgettable experience of witness these animals frolicking in the wild. ... Nature doesn't stop for the weather so we became part of it, enjoying the natural surroundings and all her creatures - including the Common Murre picture here. Let's give our marine aviators some love too! All photos taken with a zoom lens and heavily cropped by Captain Yves.

A wonderfully calm down on the waters near Spieden Island. We spent our time with the T60s plus a few extras including, T2B and a little one! All photo credit to Captain Yves, photos taken with a zoom lens.

Congrats Jpod on another little one! Expectant mother J41, aka Eclipse, gave birth to her newest baby Thursday afternoon just miles off the Victoria, B.C. waterfront. This is J41's second calf. Her first calf, J51, is a male born in 2015.
