Ask The Expert Q & A: Q: Hello Dr. Kuzmar, I'm getting married at the end of August. When is the best time to get my Botox and dermal filler done? Thank you. Dorothy W. ... A: Hi Dorothy, Thanks for your Facebook message. Botox and dermal filler have different times of onset; however, they can still be done on the same day in most cases. I recommend to book an appointment for both services at least 4 weeks in advance. Although the results of dermal filler such as Juvederm are instant, sometimes several weeks are necessary for the product to settle in and to allow time for touch ups. There's also possibility of swelling and bruising, which is rare, but you don't want to take any chances having filler done too close to your wedding day. Botulinum toxin, on the other hand, can take up to 14 days to fully develop. Just as with filler you want to give yourself ample time in case any minor tweaks are necessary and for your Botox to fully engage. If you have a question for Dr. Kuzmar or would like to book a consultation, please call our clinic at 416-652-1288. #DrKuzmar #StClairCosmetic #QandA

Ask The Expert Q & A: Q. Hello Dr. Kuzmar, I keep reading about skin boosters, beauty boosters, and skin hydrators. Are these all the same? If not, what's the difference? - Viera R.... Hi Viera, Thanks for your Facebook message. Essentially these are all similar products created by different brands. We use the Volite Skin Hydrators here at St. Clair Cosmetic Clinic. What all these products have in common is that they're designed to improve skin quality and not for contouring purposes like traditional filler. The method of injection is very different as well. Typically I administer small amounts of Volite a few centimeters apart and allow the hyualuronic acid molecules to diffuse and spread out. The product does this naturally and very little manipulation is required. It takes between 3-4 weeks to start seeing a marked improvement in hydration, plumpness and elasticity which can last up to nine months. The main difference between Volite Skin Hydrators and the other products is that only one session (using 1-3 syringes) is required for pleasing results. With competitors' products several visits are usually recommended. If you have a question for Dr. Kuzmar or would like to book a consultation, please call our clinic at 416-652-1288. #DrKuzmar #StClairCosmetic #QandA
