New research using our alpha synuclein pre-formed fibrils (PFFs) suggests alpha synuclein SUMOylation may be neuroprotective. PFFs generated alpha synuclein aggregation, decreased cell viability, and induced cytotoxicity in rat dopaminergic neurons.
