Our Health & Safety team here at Jordan recently organized a Wellness Bingo for us to have a little ‘healthy’ competition in the workplace. For one month we tracked our own bingo sheets and at the end of the month entered our names in a draw (1 entry for each row completed) to win a Gift Certificate of our choice as well as a Gift Certificate for the charity of our choice. SUBARU SERIES UPDATE - June 24th, 2020 It is with great sadness that today we announce the official cancellation to the remainder of the 2020 Subaru Triathlon Series season. Over the past few months, we remained optimistic and tried to modify our schedule in the hope of creating an abbreviated Subaru Triathlon Series. However, given the government re-opening process, even our modified schedule seems unrealistic. Most of our events have been fixtures in the local host comm...unities for over 30 years. While we are disappointed that we won’t be able to carry on those traditions in 2020, we are confident and excited to welcome you all back across our finish lines in 2021. We would like to extend our thanks to all our great sponsors, local communities, venues, police, volunteers and staff for their understanding. Without their hard work and support, these events would simply not be able to happen. Those that have signed up for a Subaru Series race in 2020, will be automatically deferred to the same race in 2021. You do not need to do anything at this point and will receive a confirmation for the new date(s) in the upcoming weeks. If the date next year does not work for you, we will allow free transfers into any other Subaru Series race in 2021. We would like to continue to extend our thanks and appreciation for your patience and understanding as we work through this and sort out all the details going forward. SUBARU SERIES UPDATE - June 4th, 2020 We hope everyone is keeping well with the ongoing uncertainty and challenges we are all facing due to Covid-19. There is no guide or playbook when it comes to dealing with situations such as this and we are all learning and doing our best to make the right decisions as we move to get through this pandemic. Today, we make another difficult announcement. The Niagara Triathlon, originally scheduled for July 26th has been cancelled. We ...continue to monitor government physical distancing guidelines and health regulations as we assess the viability of hosting an event. We will aim to make cancellation decisions approximately 8 weeks prior to our events. Those registered for Niagara will have the following options available to them: Athletes can transfer, free of charge to any Subaru Triathlon Series event later in the 2020 season (given those events occur) Athletes can defer 100% of their race entry to the same event in 2021 We realize this cancellation only leaves the potential for 2 remaining Subaru Series races in 2020. Originally we had hoped to have a clearer picture of how the summer would play out by June 1st and send emails to those athletes in affected races so far. Once we have a final decision on Guelph Lake 1 (new date on August 15th/16th) and Owen Sound (September 13th), we will email everyone directly with their options. We ask that you do not contact us at this time with your decision. We continue to thank everyone for their patience and understanding. All the best. SUBARU SERIES UPDATE APRIL 29, 2020 We continue to monitor the ongoing and uncertain situation regarding COVID-19 and hope everyone is staying well. The most recent announcements by the Ontario government are encouraging but provide little clarity on a timeline for when events such as ours can get back up and running. As we balance this uncertainty along with the health and safety of our athletes and gove...rnment restrictions, we have been led to make some difficult decisions during this unprecedented time. Today, we announce the following changes to the 2020 Subaru Triathlon Series schedule: As previously announced, Milton has been cancelled in 2020. Guelph Lake 1 will not occur on its scheduled date in June and is tentatively rescheduled for August 15/16. The timeline and event schedule for the event will remain the same. Due to the movement of Guelph Lake 1 to August, Orillia and Guelph Lake 2 will be cancelled in 2020. As of now, Niagara and Owen Sound will remain on their originally scheduled dates, and any changes will be communicated as they come available. The following options are available to those currently registered for an event that has been cancelled (Milton, Orillia, Guelph Lake 2): Athletes can transfer, free of charge to any Subaru Triathlon Series event in the 2020 season (given those events occur) Athletes can defer 100% of their race entry to the same event in 2021 The following options will be available to those currently registered for an event that has been rescheduled (Guelph Lake 1): Athletes currently registered will automatically be transferred into the new date Athletes can transfer, free of charge to another Subaru Triathlon Series event in the 2020 season (given those events occur) Athletes can defer 100% of their race entry to the same event in 2021 Please do not contact us with your decision at this time. We will send out specific emails to registered participants in each of the effected races with options, once we have a clearer picture of how this summer will proceed. MILTON As we balance the uncertainty of this pandemic with the health and wellness of our athletes, today we announce the unfortunate decision to cancel the 2020 Milton Triathlon, Duathlon and Try-A-Tri. ... This difficult but necessary decision was made in coordination with Kelso Conservation Area, the Town of Milton and the current health guidelines and policies put into place by government officials. We thank all our athletes, sponsors, vendors, staff and stakeholders for their patience and understanding as we work to figure out fair alternatives for everyone involved. The following options will be available to those currently registered for Milton: Athletes can transfer, free of charge to any Subaru Triathlon Series event later in the 2020 season (given those events occur) Athletes can defer 100% of their race entry to the 2021 Milton event You will receive a specific email by June 1st with instructions regarding event options or deferral. We realize there is much uncertainty regarding any events being completed this summer and thank you for your patience and support as we develop a better understanding of event participation in Ontario over the next few weeks. We ask that you do not contact us with your decision at this time. REMAINING EVENTS We are currently working through the remainder of our schedule to determine the best course of action. We do anticipate further adjustments to dates and/or venues as this situation evolves and we receive updates from health officials. In any case, if changes are made to an event, we will relay that information to those affected with approximately 8 weeks notice unless details become available sooner. For any events that are rescheduled to a new date in 2020, the following options will be available: Athletes currently registered will be automatically transferred to the new date If the new date does not work, you will be able to transfer to another Subaru Triathlon Series event that takes places during the 2020 season, free of charge If neither of those options work, a 100% deferral into the same event in 2021 For any events that are cancelled in 2020, the following options will be available: Athletes can transfer, free of charge to any Subaru Triathlon Series event in the 2020 season (given those events occur) Athletes can defer 100% of their race entry to the same event in 2021 We appreciate the patience of everyone as we work through this difficult time and wish you all the best. Ready for a feel good story about 3 sisters living in Africa, Montreal and Cambridge coming together tor race at Subaru Niagara Triathlon this summer!! This is why we organize races!! Sport brings people together! Hi Subaru/Trisport Team, Just wanted to thank you and send you a little story and photo.... I took up triathlon in BC about 5 years ago. Two years ago I moved to Africa. It was at that time my two sisters took up traithlon (we are all in our 40s). This summer I made my first trip back to Canada after moving to Africa. It was tough trying to train where I live, but I did it, and in July my sisters and I did our first traithlon together--the Subaru Niagara sprint. Although my twin sister was fastest in the swim and my younger sister was fastest in the bike, they met around km 4 of the run and I caught up to them with only 400m of the race left. So we finished together!! Here is a photo of our finish with one sister who trained in Montreal (Hannah Chestnutt), one who trained in Kitchener-Waterloo (Charlotte Woodley) and one who trained in Malawi, Africa (Vivian Bertrand). Thanks again! It was a great day and a great reunion for 3 Canadian sisters training around the world. Vivian Bertrand
