Cider 6 oz Gin .75 Lime .25 Cucumber Slices - A bunch Hibiscus Syrup .75 (1 tablespoon hibiscus per 250ml water, 1-1 sugar to liquid) - Build in glass over ice & cucumber slices, stir, skewer cucumber slice. We used @revelcider Time & Place, and the @drinkwillibald Pink Gin. - - - Monkey Business Light Beer 6oz Aperol 1.5 Lemon Juice .75 Simple .5 Salt Lemon Zest - Build in glass over ice, stir, express lemon zest. We used @ol_beautifulbrewingco Brass Monkey - Blood Orange Blonde. - - - Wanderlust - 1.5 Tequila 0.5 Cointreau 0.75 Lime 4 Raspberries 2 slices Mango - In a shaker set muddle fresh fruit and Cointreau, add the rest of the ingredients and ice, shake hard for 10 seconds, double strain, and serve with a skewer of Mango and Raspberry. - - May we continue to take care of one another and all members of our communities. Making mama & papa proud @calgaryherald, @elizabooth for the time and space. Happy to be with my friends, co-conspirators and bubble mates @sipwithandy @alecfraser_ and family @errriza working @youandicafe, @sugarwater.bar and @dashndinepopup what a time to be alive - It's been quite the journey for our family @youandicafe and continued to be for me and my sister @errriza growing up as first generation Canadians in a small cafe and sandwich shop in the +15 of do...wntown Calgary, and now taking over. But nothing like my grandparents and parents, who came to an unknown land with absolutely nothing but a hope and a prayer for something better. How lucky we are to be in such a place where we have been afforded the opportunities to be where we are now. This is the story of Canada and all the immigrants who built this country, may we also honour and do better for those that came before us, this beautiful land that was taken from another. - Small business is a path wrought with innumerable "failures" and sacrifice. Sadly, now more than ever are the challenges even greater with consolidation, ever growing corporate entities and extreme social and economic volatility. Not good or bad, just the times we live in. I can only hope to continue bettering myself and my communities for the sake of my grandparents, parents, my sister, and all those with whom I have the blessing of working alongside and providing services to. In honouring where I came from, it would be a tragedy not to do more and be better in celebrating and championing diversity in all its forms.
