One of my favourite aspects of this businesses is collaboration hearing the vision of another business, developing a scent and line of products, and then seeing that vision come to fruition. It’s about creating an experience for the end user, and there is nothing I love more than this. Over the last year, I’ve been working with @wandertheresort to create a line of amenities for their new resort in Prince Edward County. It started with discussion about what kind of experienc...e they wanted their guests to have; followed by imagining a scent that would hold that feeling in a bottle. We were on the same page from start, and I honestly couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect pairing. If you saw my plethora of stories, last week, you would have seen the gorgeousness they have created, during my staycation in one of their newly completed cabins. I had an idea of what was being developed, but the end result was ... I don’t even have the words for it. There were fine details popping up everywhere and you could see how much thought was put into every single aspect of the guest experience. The design, the textiles, the amenities, the grounds, and the bed... oh my word, the sleep I had It was a proud moment to see the Wander x Sunday’s Company line throughout the cabin: body oil, hand soap, room spray, hand sanitizer, and diffuser oil. The scent? Think, a walk through a Canadian coniferous forest, just before sunset, and then winding down with a campfire. It’s woody, and nostalgic. I think we nailed it. My hope is that it’s well received by guests that they feel comforted and at home. Thank you Shannon, Steph, and Kim for trusting me to be a part of the magic you have created, and for making this a dream project. @wandertheresort is already sold out for the summer, but get in there this spring or autumn, if you can. It’s an experience that must be had, and The County is absolutely divine during this time. Happy Wandering!

It’s like being transported to a Eucalyptus steam room. With the help of steam, the soothing properties of herbs are extracted into the air and breathed in. The combination of steam, plants and oils connects you to your breath, helping you relax and relieve tension. This blend is also a gentle, therapeutic remedy to help relieve congestion and loosen muscles and phlegm in throat.... Herbal Steams also cleanse and hydrate the skin. As the surface of the skin is warmed, impurities, bacteria, buildup and dirt are released from pores. Tired skin is revived as moisture is absorbed, increasing permeability and suppleness. The increased perspiration improves blood flow, which in turn feeds the skin. This is, by far, one of my favourite products to use when I just need to chill out for a moment. I often put a large scoop in a muslin bag, and hang in the shower for a seriously relaxing, eucalyptus filled experience.

Let’s get to know the new body spray collection. This is a series I had in mind for so long, but I wanted each scent to be just right. The formula for each one came at different times, and I’d jot down my thoughts as they came. This is a collection of body sprays, inspired by landscapes and phenomena that have left an imprint on my heart. Each scent was created by imagining myself in that space, and allowing my intuition to recreate the aroma that takes me back to that moment... in time. Each scent comes with a short spell, on the bottle, written by Sonja Seiler of @nurtureretreats. Use these words, and this scent, to help you travel to special places that only Mother Nature can create. _________________________________________________________ This is Celestial Spell constellation of spice and barkilluminate the liminal dark Inspired by celestial bodies and the mystical world that exists outside the Earth’s atmosphere. The moon, the stars, the planets, the sun, and the sky. Imagine yourself, floating through a night sky, enveloped by clouds and shooting stars. Scent: hints of cedar, benzoin, and frankincense are rounded off with bergamot, and patchouli to crate a penetrating aroma that’s sweet, and woody. formula and creation: @sundayscompany label design: @wellpreservedcreative spell and final product name: @nurtureretreats photo: @eastcitycandles

This pandemic is far from over cases are increasing at an alarming rate. I feel safe here, in the and I’m so thankful for everyone in Trent Hills and Prince Edward County for working together to keep this virus (mostly) away from us. That includes the thousands of visitors, who came and supported our shops, while respecting our little towns and kept us safe. I haven’t been back to Toronto since January. It’s been 7 years since I left, but I was back every single week. It fe...els strange that it’s going to be a different place the next time I’m there. The atmosphere, the recently closed shops and restaurants. I guess this is just a reminder to everyone, to please continue to be vigilant. Be well. Stay safe. Wear a mask. Distance yourself. Wash your hands. Don’t throw a party... you know the drill! pc: @eastcitycandles

BREAST OIL I just strained and poured a fresh batch, and I tweaked the scent just a tiny bit. A hint of sandalwood was the perfect touch, to help carry the delicate scents of rose and neroli. I love how it turned out. It’s deep, and delicate at the same time floral and woody. A scent that corresponds with the moon, venus, taurus, and scorpio. Powerful, potent and meditative.... Regular self breast-massage is an important step in every woman's self care practice. The nourishing and preventative actions of herbs are extracted into a carrier oil, creating a simple, effective product for stimulating lymph movement, dissolving hard tissue and growths and maintaining overall breast health. Breast skin is thin and absorbent, and breast tissue contains a great deal of fat, which readily absorbs infused herbal oils. And let’s be real, feeling yourself up... getting to know your body is just plain good! photo @eastcitycandles

Anyone elses skin start to feel different with the change in seasons? Although, we may may not feel the need to moisturize as much in the summer (sweat gives us that dewy look doesnt it), the excessive sun, heat, and air pollution can do a number on is. Dehydration is real. As simple as I like to keep my routines, right about now, I tend add a couple of more steps into my face care. More exfoliation, herbal steams, and masks (every once in awhile). With dry skin, a mask is... not needed very often. BUT, Sundays Company offers masks for various skin types. A combination of clays and finely powdered herbs and flowers to nourish, regenerate, and hydrate skin, promote circulation, balance oil levels, remove excess impurities and help improve complexion. Theres a blend for everyone. Photo @mighty_creative_agency

Its that time of season again. Autumn has arrived, which means the Open Seasons box is about to land on your doorsteps. Pre orders open to newsletter subscribers, today, September 23, at 2pm EST. Boxes are limited, and you can get on the list via the link in my profile. The shop will be open to all on September 25th. If you arent familiar with it, Open Seasons is a surprise gift box of nurturing botanical remedies sent to your doorstep.... Each season, a wellness box filled with items that I have curated and handmade is offered. These items reflect the coming season and allow you to begin, or add to your home first aid and wellness kit. They not only to nourish your skin and your soul; they will support you as we enter this new season. This year, each quarter is inspired by the seasonal elements of ancient astrology: earth, air, fire, and water. The elements are the foundation of life. They shape and sustain our selves and our world. Did you know that each season is represented by one of the elements? So are the plants. So are we. Its fascinating, and I invite you to experience how its all connected. The focus for autumn is WATER. photo @sanctuary_in_the_county

Whenever I hear the Spring Peepers singing in the forest, I breathe a sigh of relief. Pure joy thinking about the season to come. The newness. The possibilities. For some reason, I also think to myself, soon enough Ill be sitting here, saying wow, summer is already over. And here we are it flew by. I wouldnt call it a fun summer it was void of a lot of the beautiful human connections that typically take place. It was laborious, and hot. A lot of alone time. But, it wa...s also a season of reflection, and one that I am deeply grateful for. We opened a shop, in the midst of a global pandemic. I expanded my gardens, tenfold, and will be able to offer a new product line that is so very dear to my heart. Harvest is just about over... just a few rose petals and chamomile left... oh, and of course mint and lemon balm that are forever generous. And then the gardens will be tucked away, to rest. Some rest for me too Im tired. How about you? Ive had some people reach out about Open Seasons boxes. They ARE still happening, just a bit late this season. Im feeling it, though, that they are needed right about now. So Im on it, and if youre on my mailing list, youll be notified of ore-orders very shortly. So for now, so long sweet summer, and Equinox blessings to you all. photo @mighty_creative_agency

Cozy body oiling tip: Now that the weather has significantly cooled down, I love to gently heat my oil before applying it. Simply place the bottle in a mug of hot water, for 5-10 min, or pour desired amount of oil into a bowl and nest into another bowl filled with hot water. Apply the warm oil generously to your entire body, beginning at the feet, working your way up. Use long strokes on your limbs and circular strokes on your joints. Massage your abdomen and chest in clockw...ise, circular motions. Bliss. Youre welcome. photo @mighty_creative_agency

The Sweet Breath Ritual Kit is meant to help you establish a morning oral care routine. Ayurveda teaches that oral health is linked to overall health and well-being, and the condition of the mouth and tongue are considered a window to the bodys health. Your sweet breath ritual can be practiced in addition to daily brushing and flossing to promote optimal oral health.

This time of year always brings me back to the book, Braiding Sweetgrass. Maybe because as the season winds down, and the plants get ready to sleep, I look around me, and Im able to reflect on, and be grateful for how they have taken care of me. Its a quiet relationship with the plants and I. Theres give and take. I mostly allow them to be wild and free, but some of them I tend to. I take care of them so they can grow to be medicine for me, for you, and for our pollina...tor friends. Is it weird that I converse with the plants? Nah. It develops intuition. Its an energy exchange, and its where the magic comes from. #plantsaremagic

Anyone else feeling harvest overwhelm? Its a thing. Plants need to be harvested, and dealt with right away. Are they being used fresh or dried? This makes a difference in how they are processed. Do I have enough for the year? I forgot about harvesting this, and I missed the season, so I call upon fellow herb growers for help. I have no more room to dry herbs, theyve overtaken my home and studio. How will I get through all this, when I have to pick more tomorrow, and be in ...the studio making product. Holy Moly, its a lot. As much as I love picking, and processing, and being with plants, Ive reached the point of overwhelm. But, living in a Canada, we have such a short season, so we have no choice but to get it done, now! So for the next few weeks, Im pushing through it, and remaining grateful for this opportunity, and access to all this bounty. If youve been in touch with me recently, its taking a little longer for me to reply... this is why. Thank you for your patience and support. photo @mighty_creative_agency

September. For me, the most magickal month. A seasonal shift that moves toward slowing down, balance, letting go. All of summers garden work winds down final harvests, prepping beds and pots for winter. Infusions from July are near completion, and the next step in product creation begins. For me, September is the month when my mind and body are ready for change. Its Virgo season, Im at the end of this years lap around the sun, and despite the absurdity that is 2020, my ...37th year has been memorable, momentous, and eye opening. Im ready to say farewell to summer. Im ready to turn 38. Im ready to dig deeper. Im ready for more growth and learning. Im ready to sprinkle a little magic into your life. photo @mighty_creative_agency

Using herb-infused oils is a simple, deeply healing form of self care, whose effects you can feel immediately. In Ayurveda, abhyanga (self massage, with oil) is a daily practice. The Sanskrit word sneha means, both, oil and love in essence, you are saturating yourself with love; creating feelings of stability, warmth, and comfort. You can any of my body oils for this practice. They include: Cedar & Bergamot, Dream Oil, Moontime Oil, Breast Oil, and Sacred Forest. Coming... this fall, is a whole new line up of herbal oils, infused with botanicals straight from my gardens. Read more on body oiling, and how to perform this nourishing and self loving ritual, over on the journal. (Link in bio) Photo: @creatinglight.studio

Which is your favourite Soaking Salt: Patchouli Cedar, Lavender Lemongrass, Cinnamon Rose, or Eucalyptus Neroli? My preference changes with the season, which is why each scent is made to reflect the elements. Were approaching Autumn, the season of water the universal symbol of the soul. Water represents flow, letting go, surrender, stillness, silence, and peace. Its corresponding Soak Salt: Eucalyptus Neroli. Im really into this scent right now. It reminds me of the spa.... Yesterday, I posted a photo in my stories, of me, 6 years ago, stepping into a forest, about to go on my first herb walk. It was a day that changed me forever. I was 1 year into my move from the city, embracing everything country life had to offer. This life of the plant path was not planned. It was not even a thought in my mind. I was just looking for something new to do that day. But, holy moly, did it ever throw me for a loop. That day was the end of 10 years of constant s...truggle and not knowing. Here I am today, doing something that ended up coming so natural to me. Something I finally didnt have to convince myself to move forward with. Something that has consumed my life in the most magical way, ever since. You just never know whats waiting for you, when you least expect it. @ Warkworth

Last month, I had the honour of creating a custom body oil for the @saveoursoles summer Mood Box. I say it was an honour because Shelbys taste is top notch, and her work ethic and confidence are truly admirable. With all custom scents, I begin with asking, give me some feely words that you imagine this oil to represent. Campari and OJ; summer nights in the garden; grapefruit, cocktails, warmth, and always 70s pool fashion.... I think we nailed it. Heres the final product: Amaro e Dolce (Bitter & Sweet)
