We can’t even begin to describe how incredible cute this wee Manx boy is - look at that belleth! Our volunteer Anne received a call from Surrey Animal Resource Centre that an Animal Control Officer had attend to a recycling plant after a call from an employee that two tiny kittens were found on top of a huge pallet of material. The ACO immediately took them to the vet for a checkup. We received the call for assistance as we have emergency access to the many amazing VOKRA bot...tlefeeder fosters that are always on standby. Unfortunately one of the babies did not make it it had a severe injury to it’s lower leg. Or volunteer Therese attended the plant the next day to look for more kittens and a mom but none were found, she spoke to several employees and gave them her contact info. We are very grateful to SARC for reaching out and for our SurreyCats volunteers and VOKRA fosters who were involved with the emergency care for this wee boy. Alia, Jen, Debbie, Therese and Patricia, thank you for caring for him. It takes a Village. See more

UPDATE: Thank you everyone - we have received lots of leads - please have patience while we work through them. HELP! We are again in need of barns for Barn Cats. If you live on a working or hobby farm in a rural area from Vancouver to Mission/Chilliwack and have room for feral cats, we can help. We currently have cats needing barns. These cats have been rescued/trapped and have decided not to be tame. They come from a barn situation but cannot return there all the buildi...ngs have been removed there is no shelter for them and no feeder anymore. They have been completely vetted; spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-fleaed and de-wormed. They are not happy in a home and want to live outside. You must provide a completely enclosed room/stall for the first 4 weeks for the cats to be acclimatized in. You must provide food and fresh water every day, and also set up sheltered areas for the cats to be safe after the initial 4 week period. There is no charge for these cats, we just expect you to look after them and get medical help for them if needed. They must go at least 2 together. If you are interested in learning more about this program, please e-mail us at [email protected] or send us a private message here on Facebook. See more

Late night delivery tonight to our holding facility from trapper Mona Boucher. She received a call right after work from a homeowner in Port Kells who has been feeding this mom cat. She found kittens in the hood of an older race car where mom had stashed them in a little well. Mona secured the kittens first and used them as bait behind the trap. Thank goodness mom was trapped in a few hours on such a rainy stormy night. They are now safe! Thank you Mona!! And thank you to Kelly for driving to Vokra tomorrow morning with this little family!

A long tale from our trapper Anne: I received a call late one evening from Susan who lives in a rural area near the border. Susan has a farm and has trapped several stray cats. We fix them, and the cats that we cannot tame are returned to her as barn cats, where they live a good life with shelter and food. Susan reported hearing a kitten scream from the neighbouring property. She said it was coming from the house that was a good distance from her property line. She could not ...Continue reading

THANK YOU to our friends at the Delta Community Animal Shelter for their very generous donation of surplus cat litter, food, bedding and sheets. Our volunteers, Marion and Anne needed 2 SUV’s that were packed to the roof and sagged on the rear end to transport it all. There was even enough to share with another rescue as well. These supplies will go a long way in caring for the cats and save a lot of money for us and the other rescue. Thanks again DCAS,
