Highlights within the draft budget include: -No utility rate or franchise fee increases -Increased visitor pay parking fees for the 2021 Visitor Pay Parking Program -Introduction an online Citizen Portal -A continuation of the Skate Park Ambassador Program, which was a successful pilot project late last summer/fall. Who want's to help us light up the pier? We need approximately 20 sponsors more for the Christmas Planter Parade. The Sylvan Lake Winter Village Committee needs your help! We have several Christmas Planters that need decorating on the pier at the Winter Village site. Everything we raise helps make the lighting display possible. On Spotify and Apple Music, look up Isiah Williams (Every Day’s a Holiday) This video debuted at the Sylvan Lake Chamber of Commerce Business Awards, an original song written and performed by the talented Isiah Williams. We wanted to share a positive, uplifting and hopef...ul message - so if this song makes you smile, let us know, and share it. Special thanks to IQ Entertainment, who produced it and literally did a music video in a week. Incidentally, Isiah Williams is a partner at IQ. We think Isiah really captured the vibe of Sylvan Lake, and how many people around the world probably feel about being separated from the people and places that feel like home. IQ worked with the talented Flying Goose Media to get some great shots of Sylvan Lake, including some pretty spectacular aerials. House Of Music allowed us to record the song in their studio. We needed a vehicle in some shots to tell the story of someone coming home - and Adrenalin Motors sponsored that shot. The video was made especially for our business awards video for a "half-time show" and features many Employee of the Year finalists and sponsors, Sean McIntyre, Mayor of Sylvan Lake and, after a public call, several residents and visitors lip synching the song. This project was a labour of love, and would not have been possible without the support of the business community at all. Enjoy!

Good evening Lakers, my name is Michael Williams my family and I have a couple small businesses here in town. One of our companies is IQ Entertainment and we ...have been working with the Chamber of Commerce to produce a new Sylvan Lake song (Everyday’s a Holiday in Sylvan Lake) and music video to have some fun and support local business. We’re almost done but we need your help to finish the video. This Saturday, along with our production partners Flying Goose Media, we will be shooting the finale down at the pier and we’d love to have you join us for your 15 seconds of fame! If this were a year ago we’d just put out the when and where and be done with it. But of course it’s not so I have to go into a little more detail. So here we go: When: This Saturday October 3rd Where: Waterfront Pier in the area around the Sylvan Lake Sign Time: 2:30pm to approximately 3pm How?? OK so here’s the details: As this would be considered an outdoor gathering we are restricted to 200 people (honestly we’re hoping to get 50). If you are interested in coming though let us know in the comments so we can get an idea. Social Distance: Please keep your individual groups together as best you can and give some separation from other groups/families etc. Masks? We’re not the mask police if you want to wear masks, wear masks if you don’t maintain a respectful distance. Now the fun part: What’s happening? We will be there with our PA system to direct you but basically it’s this: We are playing the Chorus to the song twice and we’d like you to lip-sync along, dance, wave anything you want to do to show your Sylvan Lake spirit! As much as we’d like to get you to actually sing along large group sing-alongs and cheering are specifically discouraged in the Alberta government guidelines. What to wear? Get creative, wear costumes, wear your sports team jersey or just wear your normal clothes. The big thing is we want you to show up and have fun. Finally, I thought long and hard about trying this project but I believe that it’s important to show that after that fiasco with the tourists back in the summer that we can have fun AND be responsible.
