Here’s a couple of quick thoughts on the first half of Psalm 23:2. He settles me down in green pastures No one can make or train a sheep to lie down. They will only lie down when they are watered and fed and not threatened by wild animals or biting insects; even the bark from a stray dog can scatter them. The words settle down comes from the Greek kataskenoo meaning settle down or rest. Sheep will rest but only after abundant food when they are satisfied will the...y settle down. And note he leads me not drives me. The shepherd walks slowly ahead of his sheep and either plays his 10-second tune on a pipe or more often sings his own unique call as the sheep know his voice. Sheep will even separate from other sheep simply by this call and only those who know his voice will follow that particular shepherd (do we know the voice of Jesus?) David led a turbulent life murderer, incest, betrayal, adultery, treachery, civil war, killing his son yet he finds himself beside quiet waters. Hard to believe given his background. Each day the shepherd leads his flock to where it can rest rest and tranquility are part of a daily routine. Have you been able to settle down today despite pandemics and political turmoil? Have you found your place of tranquility with the Good Shepherd? I pray the answer is yes. -Paul Robertson, Youth Culture Specialist and TR Campfire Speaker.
Thank you, Matt!
Dear Lord, Thank you for Canada this great nation in which we live. Thank you for the freedom which our veterans and their families have sacrificed to give us. We pray for the family and friends of our fallen men and women in uniform. Embrace them with Your peace and encourage them with Your hope. As they remember their loved ones, may their tears of sorrow be combined with tears of pride knowing that their loved ones didn't die in vain, but for our liberty.... For the men and women who serve in the military and their families, we ask for Your blessing of protection and provision. Thank You for the sacrifices they make every day. In the name of the One Who also died for our freedom - our King Jesus. Amen.
Thank you, Jessica!

A Note from Tim Stevens "Notice re Mel Stevens Funeral Service" Dear Friends,... With Covid restrictions we are only allowed 50 people to attend Mels funeral service in person. With over 30 direct family members, it leaves us very few others we can specifically invite. It pains us deeply that not everyone who we think should be there, or who would like to come are able to join us. The service will be live-streamed so that anyone we couldnt invite to attend in person, can join us in celebrating Mels life. We will post this information as soon as we get it. We deeply apologize as we wish everyone could be with us. Thank you to everyone who has sent messages of memories, love, and encouragement already. You were all special to dad and you are to us. Tim
We thank God for the incredible generosity and shared expertise of our good friends at the Fawcett Funeral Home to help celebrate Mels life.

Mel Stevens, founder and long-time director of Teen Ranch, went home to be with the LORD this morning. His faith has now become sight. In this, we have great joy, peace, and comfort. We thank God for Mels life surrendered to the serve Him faithfully, humbly, and with excellence. Mels deep faith through good and difficult times, his bold determination to share Gods love and salvation through Jesus, and consistent godly example deeply touched his family, friends, extended Te...en Ranch family, and countless lives around the world. The Apostle Paul penned these words, but how appropriate for Mel, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that dayand not only to me but also to all who have longed for His appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7, 8 "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful servants." Psalm 116:15 And as Mel would want, all praise and glory to God!
Thank you, Lindsay Grice, for another great and practical reminder!
In this bold statement, Joshua is urging the people of Israel to reject their false gods and serve the one true God. They had to make their choice and he made his, he would serve the Lord and nothing would change that. Are you willing to stand alone as Joshua was? In a world that chooses to reject God, are you willing to stay faithful to your Savior? Are you willing to make the sacrifices that it takes to serve the Lord with every part of your life? God doesnt ask for a part... of our lives, but every part of our lives. Standing alone as a faithful servant of God is no simple task; it will be extremely hard at times. You will be mocked, you will be questioned, and at times you will feel completely alone. It will require you to completely empty yourself of all selfishness, pride and self-reliance. Our God promised to always be with us, to give us strength, courage, and comfort. He will never leave us or forsake us. It wont be easy, but it will be the best decision of your life. Nothing compares to our Lord. He blesses those who are faithful and there is nothing like His great blessings. There really are only two options as you can see reading Joshuas statement, you either serve the one true God or false gods that dont exist. Youre either with God or against Him. Are you willing to serve the Lord no matter what? choose this day whom you will serve. -Josh Cossaboom, Teen Ranch Staff

Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living One. Revelations 1.17-18
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever Hebrews 13:8 Change is an inevitable part of life. Not all change is bad; a lot of change can be very good. But either way, life is unpredictable and things of this world are unreliable. You cant count on anything because nothing lasts forever and nothing stays the same, except one thing: Jesus Christ. Jesus has been the same since before time and Creation, is the same now, and will for eternity, be who He is. Bec...ause of this, Jesus is completely trustworthy. He will never go back on His word. What He has said, He will do. He will never change His mind or grow tired of you; He will never give up or stop loving you. In a world of uncertainty, Jesus is certain; in a world thats unreliable, He is reliable. You never need to be anxious or scared because Jesus will do what Hes promised to do. If you seek Him, He will give you peace and joy, He will always be your comfort and strength. He is the firm foundation, when we build our lives on Him even in times of trouble we wont fall apart. Cling to Him. He is reliable and He loves you. -Josh Cossaboom, current Teen Ranch Staff

I have been reading over and over God saying to Joshua Be strong and courageous, do not be discouraged or afraid(Joshua 1:9). I read it without a lot of thought - you know those verses youve read so often you quote without thinking. Im not a very emotionally in-tune person. My dad always said, "Facts are important, feelings are just a thermometer to get us to look at the facts and claim the truth". Not that he was wrong. However, my take on it was "facts are important, f...eelings arent". So when I was feeling rather distressed about the summer and wasnt sure why I realized that I was afraid. Plain and simple, afraid. Afraid of the financial situation, afraid to run, afraid to not run. Afraid of what the public would think. Surprisingly, not at all afraid of the virus itself. Not a coincidence I was studying in Joshua! Amen to keeping our focus on Jesus. He, and only He, is the one to guide our steps. Not all the well-meaning people. In God and God alone do we put our trust." "Our God is an awesome God!! Sharon Fraess National Director, CCI/Canada #teenranchministries #teenranchcanada #ccicanada
What is faith? Those words assurance and conviction broken down show us exactly what faith is; its not the imaginary hope of someone wishing something to happen or come to be against all odds, but rather the firm belief that God is who He says He is and that He is in control of all things. Its knowing who God is and trusting in His truth and power and that no matter the outcome of a situation, He has a purpose and a plan for it. Faith is active. Faith is boldly stepping... out knowing that the things that God has promised will come to pass just as He has said in His Word. Its looking at uncertainty and going head-on because our Creator is certain and never changing. The rest of this chapter in Hebrews goes on to list various people who stepped out by faith and answered the call that God put on their lives. They did not know all the details or the outcome, but they knew God was in control and His plans for our lives are far better than we could ever imagine. Faith isnt easy; it requires a lot of growing. God will test you to help you grow and teach you to trust in Him alone. But its more worth it than you could know. A life of faith should be the life of every believer of Jesus. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 -Josh Cossaboom
One final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8. The Bible. Click the link for todays blog post by the wonderful, Lindsay Grice!
