Good morning Biodome fans! Fun fact! Despite their many talents and evolutionary gifts, not a single pufferfish over the course of natural history has ever owned or operated a motorized vehicle. Crazy!
Happy International Women’s Day
15,000 followers! Merci tout le monde
Happy Valentine’s Day from the Montreal Biodome Fan Page family!
Who thinks the Montreal Biodome should have pandas???
Happy Easter!!!
Where do fish keep their money? In a river bank! Ahahahahahaha! Don't forget to go to the Biodome, we have plenty of fish!
OFFICIALLY HIT THE 10,000 LIKE MARK!! WOOHOO!! A big thank you to everyone who took the time to like the page and show their support for The Montreal Biodome! Also, we officially declare the animal of the week to be the lovely and mysterious hippopotamus.Though beautiful, pink, and seemingly cuddly, hippos are widely considered to be the most dangerous mammals in Africa, and are extremely aggressive. They alone contribute to over 300 deaths per year. All of our hopes and dreams of one day hugging one of these adorable monsters are now gone :(
Have you ever wondered why flamingos are such a lovely shade of pink? Yeah... neither have we. But in case you'd like to know, flamingos achieve this colour as a result of pigments stored in the organisms they eat. The tiny little brine shrimps that compose their diet contain an organic chemical compound called Beta Carotene. This chemical causes their feathers, heads, and legs to become pink! Imagine if we all became the same colours as the food we eat? That would be wild!
Woohoo! 9000 likes! Come on everybody, invite your friends to like this page and as always, be sure to stop by the Montreal Biodome this lovely summer!
Do you love red pandas? Of course you do, everybody in their right mind loves them! But did you know that red panda's are not actually pandas at all? In fact, they're not even bears. Red pandas belong to a family that is completely unique to themselves, called Ailuridae. These little furry fellas truly are one of a kind!
Did you know that seahorses are actually the slowest fish in the world? They swim at a remarkably slow speed of 0.01 miles per hour. They should be called sea turtles! Oh wait, those already exist...
