The Walford Retirement Home 22.08.2020

While we complete month 6 of protocols, and enter in our 7th month of the Covid-19 Pandemic I feel a few things need to be said, and brought up. As there is no light at the end of the tunnel at this time, and as school starts we are awaiting that second wave. While we have time to prepare, it's crucial that residents wear a mask upon leaving and entering the building. Our staff do everything we can to protect your loved ones and our Walford Family, and we ask for the same ...respect. Your loved ones are permitted to leave the building at this time, until instructed otherwise. We ask that when you pick them up, while on our property a mask if worn at all times, this aides in the safety of our residents constantly walking our pathway as they may come in contact with you. We are no longer in lock down on Wednesday & Saturday's for drop offs, therefore again, it's asked that when you get out of your vehicle, whether it be to pick up, drop off your loved ones or items that they may need, a mask is to be worn on our property at all times. While our district cases are slowly rising, we need to ensure that our most vulnerable stay safe, and we can't do this alone. We need the help from all of you, friends and family of our Walford Family. My Staff has exceeded all expectations of working throughout this pandemic, and I can't thank them enough for going above and beyond on any new policy and procedures, despite it changing daily. As well as the residents/your loved ones, with much difficulty of the constant new policies and protocols, everyone has respected the restrictions. This pandemic has made our Walford Family bond stronger than ever. To conclude, we remain on lock down and indoor visits must be scheduled by myself, Amber or Celina only. This does not change, however the location of the visits has changed to make it more efficient for the visitor with the cold weather starting. If you have any questions, or concerns please do not hesitate to call. We are anxious and eager to welcome you all back in our home, however we don't foresee this happening anytime soon. Thank you all for your assistance and continued support throughout this pandemic. Stay safe, and stay well. Casey Hills, Director of Care & Administrator
